I hope you have time because there's no such thing as a quick in-and-out purchase with these people. They have great hard to find stuff and their prices seem fair but with most supply houses it's kind of a crapshoot as to what you're going to pay when you walk through the door

These guys a great. We recently did a job with some new LED strip lighting and Joey went out of his way to make sure everything was exactly as it was supposed to be. Also, it was a bit of a surprise to me but their prices are often lower than Home Depot or Lowes for your average small items.

I have been in the electrical industry for 22 years and hands down of all the supply houses i have worked with , this place is the most amazing supply house ever. They are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. They are always willing to bring in new product to keep up with the times.

We need a good supply house for residential customers however this is not in any way the place. Lack of knowledge. Very little quality inventory. And Don't bother with a quote. It won't be complete and this female has a ready sarcastic response. It is always the customer's fault if she makes an error. Personally my preference is to use a company ready to assist rather than make my job harder than it need be. If I can't find it on their shelves nor get proper assistance placing my order, why do I need them ???? Due to poor stock shipping was always charged by California Electric and often it was the wrong item once received. Then the annoyance of dealing with them was very frustrating. Possibly they will stock more residential in the future. Certainly they need to hire a person to respond to pricing requests with a better attitude as Sarcasm never secures more business. A little interest in actually aiding in the order process would really be appreciated as opposed to feeling like it is a boxing match and I lose either way !!! *UPDATE - Since I wrote this, several local contracting businesses have contacted me to share their personal horror stories of trying to deal with Sara (the sarcastic female). All have since gone to vendors outside the area. All expressed the desire to purchase locally in Ventura but too often received the wrong item and when the correct item was sent the price was much higher. Also often they were double or triple billed (seems billing is not a priority because it takes months for resolution which can only be handled at the local branch). It seems that California Electric consistently start off very pleasant but when unable to resolve issues efficiently or in a timely manner begin to be more and more combative as if they do not need the very patrons that would seemingly keep this business thriving. Local business owners complain about losing business to online companies or out of area vendors but here we are asking this business to please offer fair honest service with a non combative attitude so we can purchase locally. Please hear us. Your Santa Barbara branch is a pleasure to do business with and stock residential, why not follow their lead ?
