I felt the need to write this review after reading negative reviews. We were in the area visiting my mom and one of the first things we do is go grocery shopping. Last time we were here we used Instacart but because we were here for her birthday I wanted to shop in store. I loved this store. We went through produce department first and I was impressed on how neat everything was. We were looking for a couple of things and we must have looked lost because a young man stocking produce asked if we needed help. Very nice...because sadly that doesn't happen too often. Where people ask if you need help. We moved on to the bakery. We were looking for a small cake...for three people and we saw one in the case. The young lady who was busy working on something was not too busy to help us. She gave us options and we left with a pretty little cake. She went above and beyond explaining what she could do to make sure we got the perfect cake. As we made our way through the store and yes not ever being there Im sure we had a lost look on our faces. AGAIN another young man was walking by and asked if we needed help finding something. Some people may think this is just workers doing their job I think it's workers doing their job very well. Im just angry with myself for not getting their names. They should be commended. But if we do make it back I will definitely get their names. It's people like this that make shoppers return and recommend this store to others.

I purchased chicken thighs on sale for buy one get one free. The chicken smelled terrible. It wasn't edible. We threw out 2 packages of thighs because we were near certain it was spoiled and Disney want to take a chance on the whole family becoming ill. We have never purchased meat from anywhere that was so off putting we couldn't eat it.

My family and I came here to do our grocery shopping since it's Sunday and we figured Costco would be crowded. We have always loved Save Mart since they have a lot of selections on organic fruits and veggies for our kids. And the service we received in the past were always pleasant. The cashiers are always so friendly. NOT this time... I felt like they hire a lot of the young new people at Save Mart and the people they hired are rude and unfriendly. Particularly two cashiers Brayden and Eric we encountered at the checkout line. I will not recommend this Save Mart, I will try another one and see how it goes.

Not only is the prices on food is expensive they sell expired products and items that are going to expire in 2 days so you have no time to eat everything you bought . I got 2 items that were WAY past the date i went in there and bought my items on the 27th and one of my item's expired on the 15th like really and it's a guacamole dip that is completely not good and the other date was on the 8th. And mostly all of the items in the fridges were expiring on the 29th. All cold areas where packed with products that were all going to expire 2 days later. Never again will be going here just to waste my money on food i can't even eat.

Why do I always feel like I'm being robbed when I go in there. The prices are horrific as if they get their business model is from Whole Foods. They do have a few unique items that I get there but not much else, way too expensive. And the cashiers need to go to finishing school! I'd rather get robbed by Von's but we don't have one in Visalia...

This is my all time favorite store. Although I do love Winco, no other grocery store has ever compared to Save Mart. One, the products. The deli, the deals, the store made pre packaged food, everything about it I love. The food they make personally as well as the sweets they bake are all extremely delicious, and have not once disappointed me. In my opinion, best rotisserie chicken in town and for a VERY cheap price. It was originally 5.49$ but after the obvious inflation within our every day buys, the price has gone up to 7$ and some change. Still, an absolute buy. (Herb and garlic recommended). I always pass by the kitchen section, and kind of forget I'm in a grocery store shopping for groceries sometimes, and end up spending 200$ dollars. They have really nice knife sets, cutting boards, everything you can want for a kitchen if you're like me and spend the majority of your time at home in it. (I love cooking and they always hold me down with the wide selection of product). The main thing I love about the store though, are the employees. The cashiers, who's names I've obviously never asked for, but all of them. Confidently I can say all of them are amazing, because they've all given me the best, homelike experience and what I mean by that is they make the store feel like a kitchen away from home. Incredible service, never rushing, always nice and spark up a quick conversation. I get extremely happy every time I have to go to the grocery store honestly, because I already know my experience will be A-1 . Thanks guys, can't wait to come back.

So the store is clean , the produce is good , but the one cashier oh my gosh !!! I still can't get over it, he did not speak at all , he was rude , he rang up my stuff before the lady in front of me was done grabbing her stuff , he didn't ask if I needed a bag , made me grab all my own stuff and put in cart and ignored me the entire time ! I am new to Visalia and I was in shock !

Complete disregard for COVID-19 pandemic! I was TOLD not asked (By Shirley) to remove my mask so she can match my ID to my face (Mind you I am in my mid 30s with a full beard). She did not ask me to step in front of the partition to remove my mask to insure separation and safety for both of us and I had to suggest that idea when I spoke to the manager. When contacting customer relations the first person I spoke with could not communicate and COVID-19 safety procedures as he stated (he did not know the information) but seemed to be more concerned with alcohol purchase policy and the fine they could face. Americans are dying daily and Save Mart's response to me was the alcohol policy and fine. I am greatly concerned in there disregards for COVID-19 and extremely offended by there response. Shirley was extremely rude and showed complete disregard, this is disheartening as people have lost there jobs and lives due to this Pandemic & Shirley is not taking the proper steps as an essential worker to insure safety.

Save mart at mary's vRefused to sell a 5" cake without the purchase of a half sheet cake. She said it would be too small anyway for the unicorn kit. I said I didn't have to have the unicorn kit so long as i got a frosted 5" cake for my baby's smash cake. I called Save Mart on Walnut and Akers and the employee there was not only happy to sell me a 5" cake but when i mentioned the theme to the party he offered to do the unicorn kit. I loved it!

The cashier, Caleb had a terrible attitude and was incredibly RUDE. He never acknowledged me, yet I said, "hi." He proceeded to toss my items after scanning them. (I wasn't quite catching on how ridiculous he was behaving). Then, he literally began throwing my food in a bag. He left half of my items on the counter and began checking out the next person in line. I finished bagging my groceries. I was baffled by what just happened? A grown "man" acting like a small child? My friend had purchased $27 in cards and he threw her cards around? There was no interaction between us to be treated rudely. I've never requested a manager, but I did last night. Manager Eddie was very apologetic and said this has been a problem with Caleb, the cashier. I said, "yet, here he is...still working." I've worked customer service, in a grocery store. I've been an RN for 15yrs. Sometimes, you need to suck it up, put a smile on your face, and do your job...WELL. I'm sure Caleb is NOT the face of Savemart. Maybe management should counsel him a little stronger, or replace him? If you think scanning food is tough, then I suggest you reevaluate your life goals. Customer service does not seem to be a good gig for you, Caleb.

They never have enough cashiers and there is one cashier who is rude and does not say one word to you and acts like he is annoyed to work the register. I only go there if I absolutely have to or don't want to get a lot of things.

Clean store, well stocked, super friendly staff, and the pharmacy here puts the rest to shame. Those wonderful ladies have helped me tremendously. This is my families go to store and pharmacy.

This is my neighborhood Savemart. Shopped here for years. Stopped in tonight for a few small items and didn't have a bag. I was asked if I wanted to purchase a bag to which I responded "no thanks, just toss the stuff back in the basket" (one of the small red plastic baskets). I was told that I was not allowed to take the basket out of the store because "there are too many bad apples". No offer to take the groceries out for me and no recognition that every employee in the store knows my face. So after spending thousands of dollars every year for what used to be excellent customer service, I'm done. I'll pay 30% less at Winco. At least I expect lousy customer service there. I'm not a fan of being called a criminal. Nice job Savemart.
