Dr and technician are excellent. The admin staff is less so. Bungled my future appointment.

Stay away from Kaiser and their optometry/ophthalmology department in particular. They simply do not care about your health. At my appointment, the eye exam lasted less than five minutes, and the entire visit was wrapped up within ten, with no helpful advice or treatment options. They simply told me they couldn’t do anything about my condition.
In contrast, when I visited another ophthalmology office to seek a second opinion, I received a comprehensive eye exam to understand my issue. They also provided a clear treatment plan.
Definitely switching to another provider from the next year..

Optometry and ophthalmology at this location have some friendly staff, but beware, my mother and I have now encountered unfriendly staff (the kind that make you feel bad the rest of the day) in each department. Last year, it was an optical clerk that was so rude about a prescription redo, my mom insisted on going to Carlsbad KP for her eyeglasses this year instead and the experience in Carlsbad was way better. Today, it was a tech in Ophthalmology. We will be filing a complaint with member services today as this lady had my 80 year old mother in tears today, shaming her for being 12 min late. This woman spent about 4 min testing my mother’s eyes and spent the rest of the time non stop shaming an 80 year old woman. I’m sorry I waited in the waiting room and was not there to defend her or shut the lady up. I’ve been taking my mother to the Ophthalmology department in Kaiser Riverside for several years. Well over 20 appts and they are never anything but bubbly and happy, plus, they have given her such excellent care and have literally saved her from losing an eye, that we were reluctant to try the Vista location in the first place. We are a hair’s breadth from going back to Riverside. She meets the Ophthalmologist in Vista next week (today was just testing) and I sure hope we are treated better then.

extremely bad patient care staff did not keep my privacy, Alex the receptionist was yelling at me saying my personal Information that loud so everybody in up to the hallway can hear that and then she was putting me behind the line where 7 to 8 people were standing. I am so surprised because 4 o’clock even saw 8 to 10 patients because they were not real patient I noticed

I was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease, by ophthalmology, losing my vision, which scared me. The ophthalmologist would NOT, see me. He said to follow up in a year, with optometry, unless I had a change in vision. I did have a vision change and was finally able to see the ophthalmologist, wish I had seen someone else. He was rude, I felt like I was bothering him, he even rolled his eyes at one point. I belong to a group with same eye disease, and everyone was referred to a retinal specialist. This doctor refused, unless symptoms become more severe. Not sure if that's a Kaiser policy. I'm so tired and frustrated with dealing with Kaiser, I'm trying to hold off seeing another ophthalmologist, and I will change doctors, definitely!!!!

Thank you, Mrs. Knight your professionalism, kindness, want to listen and help me solve my anxieties after a trauma I suffered makes me hopeful. The conversation we had showed how attentive you are. Your mannerisms and respectfulness is comforting and kind. You are the first therapist to show your genuine caring ability to communicate your concerns for my health. Thank you Kaiser for employing Mrs. Knight she is a true asset! Thank you Mrs. Knight thank you

You have to be a dungeon master to navigate the maze of primary care (have to make an appointment first), then get an appointment with a specialist, find the correct location, press the correct buttons on the phone systems... the patient experience leaves a lot to be desired. In addition, I am supposed to have an appointment scheduled, but the website states "YIELD SIGN: We’re sorry, but this feature is not available right now. Please come back later and try again."

I am shocked at the low reviews. Went I went there for the first time, I didn't know how to get to the ophthalmology appt. When a nurse who was talking to a friend and on her way out the door to go home, I felt guilty, but I asked her where the Ophthalmology Dept was. She actually said good bye to her friend and actually walked me all the way there! She was so sweet. Awesome doctor and everyone I met was were so sweet!
