So I only went to the Amazon locker located inside here to get my package. But, the staff at the front desk greeted me coming in and said "have a good night" on the way out. I glanced over the gym and it has everything you need and was not too crowded.

I had to cancel my training program due to severe asthma, and this location was very convoluted about the process, even though I knew that all I needed to provide on my end was a valid medical note from my doctor. I provided this document, and then was told to go to staples and pay for it to be printed, even though they had a printer there. I was also instructed to cancel my card instead of canceling my program. The fact that I was needing to cancel my program due to medical issues and there was no concern or sense of urgency was really lame. I ended up getting my training program cancelled within 5 minutes at another location. The fact that they could have done that the whole time makes me feel uneasy about the hacienda location, but the other locations are great and honest.

The location is good. Equipment is seriously outdated, and they really need to get rid of the cross fit area. It's a commercial gym, not a cross fit facility. They could be utilizing that space for equipment they are lacking on.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I just personally witnessed unethical business and sales practices and a complete omission of customer service or empathy at this location being done to my elderly parents, who were loyal members since 2011. My mom was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2022 and had asked about personal training to help build back her strength. Jason Boyle, who was the previous Personal Training Manager of the Vista location, did a very hard sell to her for their personal training program of $520/month for 2 sessions a week. The training sessions really helped my mom get her strength back and gave her confidence. Because my dad travels out of the country a lot, Jason promised my parents that they could roll over unused sessions in their package as "credits" that they could later use. They missed 19 sessions. This included sessions where the trainer cancelled on my mom, and also unused sessions when my parents were out of the country. Jason did not tell them they could freeze their personal training when they were out of the country or needed to reschedule the sessions where the trainer cancelled on them. In an attempt to work with them, he told them my mom could give the credit for the missed sessions to use at a later date. My mom took his word and diligently tracked her missed appointments (dates and cause) so she could let Jason know. The Vista location did not have a female trainer for awhile, but recently hired one. My mom had cancelled because there was no trainer, and when she heard they had a new trainer she wanted to start her sessions again and called the gym to ask if her credits could be applied. They told her Jason no longer worked for the Vista location and the credits were null and void. When we went to talk to them in person to straighten this out the new training manager, Andy, was so rude and blaming to my parents that I was completely taken aback. He basically said they should not have trusted Jason and because they didn't have this in writing it was their fault and there was nothing he could do. He literally said "Would you do this at a car dealership?" He was so patronizing and talked down to my parents the entire time, failing to acknowledge that they have been loyal LA Fitness members for over 12 years and have brought business to this specific gym by encouraging friends and family to sign up. Also the fact that the personal training membership was sold so aggressively with promises that were made by a single employee, and LA Fitness management refusing to acknowledge that they have any role in how these memberships are sold, stating instead that the extra perks of rolling the credit from missed sessions to future sessions is SO UNETHICAL!! We cancelled all our memberships with LA Fitness tonight. 12 years of loyalty down the drain. Truly, the biggest disappointment was not a hint of recognition of the many years of membership and how Andy failed to understand our situation and offered no apology or solutions. As we walked out the door, the group of staff who watched us go included Andy (who made my 68 year old mother recovering from cancer cry tonight), seen smugly smiling to his co-workers. DISGUSTING.

We have been members for more than 10 years. She signed up for personal training last Sept 2o22 to help her mobility after cancer surgery. While the contract states that credits can't be rolled over, we were assured by Jason Boyle (then director of personal trainers) then he will give us credits that she can use to compensate for those dates missed when we are out of country (total of 19 sessions are left out of the contract at about $65/session). Jason was good to his words and was honoring what he said until he left the facility and new guy Andy replaced him, called us to let us know that we have 0 credits and the agreement with Jason is nullified. He said we should have not believed what Jason told us. How can that be? He was the director at that time. What a bunch of opportunistic people. They took our monthly fee for no service. Andy has no place to be in a position to talk to customers. We are so upset with him and how he handled the situation. My wife and I terminated our membership and so is my daughter and her family. Don't trust the staff and what they promise. Not coming back to this place. It's amazing how one person can destroy the many years we have in this facility.

My most favorite gym. Not very crowded in the early morning, staff is friendly, and is clean. Most people working out here are focused and won't distract you with conversations. 10/10 would recommend.

I was reluctant to start personal training because I can't really afford it. On paper it says you get three unlimited days for $240 a month. So that's three sessions a month at $80 a session because not many people would do more than one session in a day. I was assured by the training manager, Jason, that he was going to spread out the appointments so that I could have two hours a week- 2 separate appointments per week- a total of eight appointments per month- for the same $240. He said he would cover any overage to the trainers. He pressured me to sign the contract, even though I was very uncomfortable, and I was vehemently assured by him (and witnessed by Josh who I think is the club's manager), that I would get those eight sessions a month no matter what for the full 11 month term of the contract. Things were going fine, then after the first three months my trainer Danielle moved on because she was going to physical therapist school. She said something about not getting her full paycheck but since she was leaving anyway, she didn't make a big deal about it. I got a new trainer Laura, who is fantastic. After three months of her paycheck from Vista not including the extra hours she worked, she confronted Jason, and was transferred to another club. She (and other trainers) gave me (and many other clients) two hours a week instead of three days a month. Danielle & Laura submitted their hours to Jason, but he only paid them for the hours covered by the written contract. Now I have to get another trainer but I do not want to do this to somebody else! I don't want people working for me for free unbeknownst to them; it's not ethical! I am going to try to get LA Fitnesd to cancel my contract early, otherwise I'm going to start the process for a class action law suit. LA Fitness uses bait and switch and makes false promises to get business. I looked on their corporate website and the very first review opened with, "LA fitness is a scam in the personal training department."

Staff interaction was extremely strange - one person in particular was super unfriendly (female, mid twenties, brown hair/ shoulder-length). Our friend had signed up through Active and Fit and they couldn’t retrieve her account so I gave her a week guest pass and she was insisting that she couldn’t let her go in unless she paid the $20 day fee even though she had an active membership + a guest pass. Please train your staff better! Furthermore, the whole gym needs an update - old machines/ gross pool and sauna, etc.

Emily's cycle class is pretty outstanding. Sets a healthy balanced tempo for effort and expectations where I feel capable to push myself.

I usually go to the Oceanside one, but went to the Vista. It was very nice and everything was clean with a great staff working here. The music selection was very good at least on the day I went where I didn't even need my headphones after a while.

Nice environment and cool staff. However Pool can get better cleaning as we were able to feel debris at the bottom of the pool. Locker rooms missed Spin Dryer for bathing suits essential after a dip. We had to go there because the closer location’s pool was closed for maintenance. Overall, it was a well maintained facility.
