I lived in Volcano for 20 years. During that time we had several postmasters and they were all friendly and conscientious. We moved to Portland 18 months ago. Two days ago a package was sent in error to our old address. In less than five minutes I'd found the telephone number to the Volcano post office, called and talked to the new Postmaster who immediately knew my name and old P.O. box, and he assured me he'd take care of the problem today. One of the top three things I miss about Amador County, and Volcano in particular, is the post office and its friendly and helpful postal workers.
