We highly recommend Cerletti & Kennedy for the Earthquake Bolt & Brace (EBB) work done on our home in Pittsburg, California, in September 2024. If our experience is any indication of the quality of their work, we can also highly recommend them for any other construction work you may need.
Once our EBB application was approved, I endeavored to get a good range of quotes: I received seven quotes from different companies, even though only three were required. There was one company that stood out from the rest, providing comprehensive information on the materials to be used as well as the installation process. Matt Kennedy also spent a fair amount of time on the phone with me, explaining exactly what the work entailed. Happily, their quote came in under the amount allotted by EBB.
What really cinched the deal for me was that I didn’t have to come up with any money up front for the permits or inspections. Cerletti & Kennedy handled everything for us. To top that, the two-man crew they sent out were two of the nicest workers I’ve encountered. They were efficient, neat, and cleaned up at the end of each work day, accomplishing the whole job in less than a week. No stress, no problems; just peace of mind. Simply put, a job well-executed. Thank you, Cerletti & Kennedy!

We heard about Cerletti & Kennedy by way of the California Residential Mitigation Program’s Earthquake Brace and Bolt Program (EBB). Cerletti & Kennedy were listed as one of the several contractors who met the criteria to install the bracing and the bolting which is used to anchor the frame of the house to its foundation. I received phone calls and emails and screened several contractors on EBB’s list. I consulted the California’s Contractors State License Board’s website to check the status of the several contractors. Because I have worked in the insurance industry, I personally preferred those contractors who have workers compensation insurance. Eventually, I narrowed down my choices to three contractors. All three contractors visited our property and provided us estimates for the work. Matt Kennedy was our initial contact with Cerletti & Kennedy. He came to our home, explained the entire process, answered questions, and took pictures. On our behalf, Cerletti & Kennedy obtained the building permit and then, following approval by EBB, scheduled the work and installation underneath the house. Their workers were courteous and efficient. There was minimal intrusion into our home and a limited amount of disruption. Originally, Matt stated it would take three days to complete the project. But it only took two days for Cerletti & Kennedy to complete the work. On the morning of day three the city inspector crawled underneath our house, made his inspection, and then signed his approval on the building permit. It is great to have a bit less concern about when “The Big One” shakes our home. Now we have more peace of mind. The other great benefit toward having this work done is that we should soon be receiving a significant discount on our earthquake insurance premiums year in and year out.

Outstanding quality and service from C&K. The quote process was easy and friendly. The plans for the deck rebuild were thorough and they completely handled getting the permits and approvals from the city. Their workers were pleasant and respectful and highly skilled.
Everyone in the neighborhood has commented at how beautiful the deck now is. I cannot wait to enjoy my new deck!
I highly recommend Cerletti & Kennedy, and would definitely use them again for any work you need to be sure it will done correctly, with safety and beauty in mind.

Cerletti & Kennedy Design-Build stepped in to complete my kitchen remodel post teardown. They created all the documentation needed and handled the permit process. The work was carefully and thoughtfully handled. I could not have asked for more. They really got me out of a tough situation. I highly recommend them.

Cerletti and Kennedy are the great balance of design-creativity and project management time/cost execution. Their kitchen design team came up with solutions to design challenges like maximizing storage in a small space while keeping it accessible through close partnering with suppliers. On the build side, the project moved steadily to completion with regular updates without me having to ask. The inevitable hiccups were brought to my attention right away and addressed usually within a few days. Most important to me was the craftsmanship and attention to fine detail of the construction team. Kitchen projects are stress inducing but C&K understood that and their experience helped keep things moving forward.

Cerletti and Kennedy did a great earthquake retrofit job for us. One thing that made them stand out is how great they followed up on fixing a problem. While working under our house, a phone line was accidentally broken. ****, one of the owners, went to great lengths including paying a company to come out and replace the broken line. They are to be commended for standing up to the problem and fixing it without question.

Used Cerletti & Kennedy for CEA Brace and Bolt in Walnut Creek. Matt was great about explaining all the details and handling the paperwork through completion. The work in the crawlspace looked difficult but was handled quickly and professionally. Only thing left to do is start saving on earthquake insurance (that's on me).

Used Cerletti&Kennedy for CEA Brace and Bolt - Matt is very good in explaining program and doing paperwork so the project went smoothly with little effort on my part except for leaving some crawlspace dirt on my carpets which they paid to have cleaned.Would recommend them - am not able to really compare the pricing as I had trouble getting more timely quotes.

I hired Cerletti and Kennedy for a Sunroom/Patio Enclosure. They were the only company I spoke to who offered reasonable solutions for the design, and flexibility if I decided to add something to the project later. They had expertise regarding the materials and design that were not mentioned when I spoke with other companies. When a part arrived that was damaged, they took care of it immediately and it did not even delay the project. And the project was completed exactly on budget. My sunroom is BEAUTIFUL, I am SO PLEASED! I highly recommend them!!!

Matt came through with dealing with designing the plans from start to finish. he dealt with the city, the permits and all interactions with planning and the building division. He was knowledgeable and experienced. I would have to say he went above and beyond to get this project done.Apparently he is also very respected by the inspectors and planners of the City depts.

The team was excellent and Ruben was great. Always arrived and got right to work. If there were any questions, he asked right away and offered suggestions. The kitchen remodeling job turned out great and both my husband and I are VERY pleased with it.

I had an initial consultation phone call with Matt. he provided me very helpful information for my project and it was clear he and his team are extremely knowledgeable. I have spoken with multiple other contractors and he was the most helpful and comprehensive. I will definitely consider working with Matt and his team if we end up pursuing our bathroom remodel!
