First, I enter the establishment and I hear, "Driver's License and credit card." I could not see anyone behind the counter. That's because the agent didn't want to stand up from behind the computer, act like a professional and greet a customer properly.Second, their credit card machine is ancient and doesn't work with Apple Pay or Apple credit cards. The agent told me, "It must be you." Then the manager came out and explained that Hertz has an old generation of credit card processors and this is why the Apple credit card didn't work. They then had to give me ride back home to get a different credit card.The Tesla they gave me stunk like marijuana smoke and bad deodorizer. They never reset the previous user's profile so there was no QR code to operate the car from phone. The manager could not troubleshoot even when I brought the car back and told me he had no other car for me. Next is a formal complaint to Hertz, doubtful that will be effective given the performance of this Walnut Creek crew.

I had an exceptional experience with Hertz in Walnut Creek! The customer service was top-notch, and the rental process is always smooth. The car was clean, well-maintained, and exactly what I needed. I appreciate the friendly staff and efficient service – highly recommend!

I have never seen such a ridiculous place. I rented the car for 1200 dollars. I go to buy the vehicle. They charge me 46 dollars per day and 1200 dollars per month for insurance. They say you have to have this insurance too. I am renting a car from here. The insurance of this place should be included, too, so that nothing happens to their own insurance. They want me to have extra insurance. Could it be such a ridiculous rental company? My friend rented it two weeks ago and did not encounter such a situation, and we are faced with such a situation.

I’m not the one that write reviews but I had to. The girl at the front desk, the black lady was extremely rude, disrespectful and despicable towards my husband. She should not be working as a customer service. I will NEVER use this location and I will not recommend it. Pls go somewhere else.

Two stars only because manager was nice and gave me a ride back home. I Ubered all the way to the location only to find that the car was not available. I even had a reservation for that car that I made the night prior. On the website it showed the car was available and I was able to make the reservation. Pro tip, don't make a reservation online. Their online reservations are BS and someone should be fired for wasting everyone's time. Be on hold for 20 minutes so you find out they don't have the car. Don't bother calling the airports, they wont pick up the phone.

I rented a car for 6 weeks, forgot to add my Hertz number. Before I drove the car off the lot, I mentioned to the guy that was helping me and he said he couldn't add it, but customer service would be able to. When I tried to get this done through customer service they said it wasn't possible.

Hands down the smoothest and fastest transaction to getting a rental car I've ever experienced. I rent cars regularly for work and this location was amazing. Darrell was cordial, helpful, and made the process easy and expedient. This will be the location I go to from now on. The office and bathroom was clean. The car was super clean. Whoever maintains the cars at this location is doing an excellent job. It was like getting into a new car despite the high miles.

I will just echo the sentiments of previous reviews. The “manager” Jay was incredibly rude. She didn’t seem to know much about the cars, and gave terse, not helpful, and rude comments throughout the process. She made me feel like I shouldn’t be there at all. Very disappointed.

I had a reservation but when I showed up they did not have my car or a record of my reservation. I tried to show my reservation number but they said it made no difference, they did not have my car. They simply shrugged when I asked what I should do to proceed. They did have 1 sub compact car available which they very generously offered to me for $100 more than the luxury car I had reserved as I was now a 'walk up'. Horrible experience, indifferent staff. Avoid.

Recommendation, avoid this location. Unbelievably rude customer service from a woman, Jay, at the front desk. Sat on her phone, made us wait until she was done scrolling. She had an attitude the entire time, would not look us in the eye. I'm hard of hearing, each time I asked her to repeat, she escalated. I kindly requested to speak to management, she said she was a Manager. I grabbed the card of the site Manager and asked to speak to him at which point she said he was in a meeting. I walked out without a car. It seems she's an issue from many of the comments posted here. Hertz, please do a better job of who you hire to interface with your customers. I went down the street to a competitor and it was night and day, how I was treated by their wonderful staff.

This location is usually busier in the mornings and there might be a wait. The staff however are very hard working to get everybody served. They are always kind and professional. The cars are good and you might even get an upgrade!

I was referred here by Walnut Creek Ford. They got me a loaner car and referred me over to this location when I got dropped off, I walked in and the person behind the desk first did not even acknowledge my presence. Secondly, when she finally did, she did not welcome me, but instead Asked me where my PO was since my advisor from Ford did not tell me the piece of paper he gave me was what I needed to give her. She only said it was for me. I did not know this is what she needed and she was less than helpful in describing what I needed to give her, once I called the dealership and got it straightened out and gave it to her she acted as if I was trying to hide it. The manager here needs to either pay more attention to what's going on out front or find some people with personality I have always been referred to enterprise Rent-A-Car from the dealership and the experience there is absolutely wonderful, they greet you they're polite. They ask questions they offer water or coffee. They want you to have an experience not just a car. I would never tell anybody if I needed to actually rent a car to go to this place I would say go to enterprise the fact that Ford's paying for it kind of forced me to go there, but I would never recommend it to anyone horrible service. The only reason I gave them two stars is because they were giving me a nice car.
