They gave my mom going through chemo an absolute VIP treatment! They gave her an early morning appointment so no other clients were in the salon, masked up because she is severely immunocompromised from the chemo, and were very patient with her! Lots of options, and they’re all so knowledgeable. I’m so happy we found this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking to regain a little bit of control while battling cancer.

I went here because I had read primarily good reviews and I was anxious to try on some wigs as my hair is rapidly thinning which anyone reading this knows is a huge self esteem killer. You need to make an appointment, and that was simple. I do wish the lady who made the appointment would have asked if I was familiar with the area. I was coming from an hour away and was not familiar with the area. Once I found the salon, I had to pass the store, make a right, and use a parking garage. Not a problem - but considering how nervous I was about trying on wigs for the first time - it would have relieved me of undue anxiety to know ahead of time. The shop is in a little patio area, but the signage was good and it was easy to find. My husband and I were welcovery comfortable almost immediately! The staff was kind, informative and helpful. Janel the owner even popped by and gave some great advice (which I am working towards.) I do wish someone had suggested I step out into the daylight to view my favorite wigs. The only things I knew as I began was that I wanted a lace front wig and to try on human hair wigs. That didn't happen - and I was so nervous about the idea of being seen in public - in a wig - I never followed up. That's on both of us - me for not repeating my desires and the staff for not beginning with my requests. The staff was very patient and encouraging! I ended up feeling powerful. I purchased two wigs - one I like very much - the other not so much now that I see how tight it is on my head (after 20 minutes I had to remove it) and how unnatural it looks out in the sunlight. Again, I wish the persons assisting me had mentioned that my head is big enough to need a larger size, and that the wig was stretched to its full size already. Anyone need a Sky wig worn for twenty minutes? It's yours! It's lovely, but the wrong size for me. In a previous review, it was indicated that no one told them that nothing sold here was able to be returned and refunded. I didn't see any signs regarding that either - perhaps because the store was so full of lovely - but distractible - items for sale. No one ever mentioned it to me - which I feel WAS a disservice. However, as the owner responded previously, the receipt DOES say that - but by the time you get the receipt in your hand and discover their policy - it is TOO LATE! Would I return - yes. Now that I have learned so much more - thanks to their staff and my further research - I will return.

I've been struggling with thinning hair, post menopause. Very demoralizing to my 'image' and emotionally draining to even look in the mirror. I have tried everything. Medications, vitamins, products etc. Also I purchased several wigs & toppers online. No success there, nothing looked real or like me. Thank heavens I found Wig Works! From the moment I walked into the shop in WC, I felt comfortable and with people who truly understood my issues. Renee was an angel , patient and kind in assisting me with various options and the correct colors. Sure enough, she found the absolutely PERFECT topper for me. Then Janelle the owner and stylist, took over to work her magic and she customized, styled and made the piece even more perfect. Now I feel like myself for the first time in a few years. I truly appreciate the kindness, patience and expertise from these ladies. Pretty sure I'm now a customer for life! Thank you Wig Works.

I've had Alopecia for 20 years. Obviously I've visited and purchased tons of toppers, hair pieces, hats & wigs over the years. I started in Southern California, Newport Beach and Dana Point. I had previously bought a wig at supposedly a TOP shop in Walnut Creek. I'd never go back there again. I'm such a wimp that didn't just walk out on the way I was being treated. (lesson learned) Now I'm in Sonoma County.....a zero place to find a decent wig shop. I found a wig on line & contacted the brand. The number 1 shop they recommended was Wow Wigs in Walnut Creek. I called Wow Wigs and they assured me they could fulfill my request. So the almost 2 hour car ride was well worth it. Believe me, you will never find a shop that even comes close to this in the Bay Area.....or even Orange County/SoCal.

I have never worn a wig, topper or extensions of any kind, but I decided to get something to help my hair look better for an unexpected family gathering happening tomorrow. Wig Works was suggested by my stylist who said it was the only place she herself would go. So glad I took her advice. The selection is immense, every price point, color, size, texture, and length you could imagine. This would have been overwhelming but thank God the owner and staff are beyond amazing. Personally and emotionally I felt completely supported throughout. The first topper style Liasie (forgive me for butchering your name) suggested was the one I went with, which goes to show you how knowledgeable they are. Although I tried on many more just to be sure, Liasie actually chose the best cut, size and color for me within 3 mins of my walking in the door. To make it perfect, Janelle, the owner and a professional stylist, cut and shaped it a little bit more. When I got home, my neighbor asked me if I had lost weight, and my husband at first did not realize I was wearing the topper because it matched so closely a hairstyle I used to wear a few years ago. He looked at me closely and smiling said, "you look great today". I had not told him I was going to a wig store so when I admitted I was wearing a topper, he actually came close to touch it and said it looked super natural and he loved me in it. I feel confident and ready to see people I have not seen in years. The price was affordable and I am thrilled with the results. SO. VERY. HAPPY. Almost giddy. Thank you Janelle and Liasie! BTW--while I was in the shop happy customers were coming in constantly to pick up other products, say "hi" and look around. It does not surprise me they have that level of repeat business. I highly recommend.

I travelled about 90 miles to this amazing store. They had a beautiful selection of wigs. Renee was wonderful. Gave me lots of tips and was not pushy at all. It was a fun experience. The hair extensions and hair pieces are beautiful and they can customize anything for you. No place in the entire bay area is like this. They are the best!!!

Wow! What a selection! I went in for a halo and they had all lengths and colors. Left very happy with the service. Tons of wigs and extensions. Recommend highly.

Made an appointment for a wig consult here, arrived a few minutes early, everyone was very kind and welcoming. They girl who initially helped me, did give me a lot of helpful information as far as how to choose a wig. But then she left to find me some different choices, and I didn't see her again until I was leaving. Luckily another girl came to notify me that my appt was coming to an end, so I needed to choose pretty quickly from the wigs I had already chosen. The girl who ultimately helped me was very nice, and she was able to give me most of the information I needed, as far as I know. I would feel a little more confident if I had a bit more information, but I guess the place was filling up quickly with more appointments and they needed to move on. I still have a few more questions, as this is a big purchase for me. I hope I made the right choice! They did say that I could always call, or come in for help with care of my wig. Overall this seems to be a nice place, with knowledgeable people, I would just suggest that if you have an appointment, you may need to be a bit more assertive than I was in order to get the full experience. However I would definitely recommend, and will likely use this business again. Next time I'll know how to handle it a bit better. P.s. the wig that I chose is absolutely beautiful, all of my friends and family are full of compliments!!!

I came in for a halo consult and walked out with a custom trimmed beautiful 16 inch halo. This shop is warm, welcoming and they make you feel comfortable and beautiful. Janelle was so kind and honest. I cannot recommend Wig Works & Extensions more highly.
