Everyplace and customer experience is what you make of it. Did I probably overpay for a starter-maybe. But the experience and rapport built by him was awesome. We pulled out three starters and checked a couple engines in his shop. My 91 PCM351 had the wrong starter thanks to Larson Marine in Stockton. So bad it was literally burning up. Gene and I talked for nearly an hour. As a military veteran myself i try and support fellow veterans. I dont think you can put a price on knowledge and customer service that's too notch. I would certainly buy products from him again. I am paying for his knowledge- 41 years worth!! Thanks Gene for getting me the right part!

5-stars for Gene and Deckhands Marine. Drain plug on our 2002 Mercruiser 5.0L failed on a Sunday morning. Called all shops and everybody was closed - except Deckhands. He said to bring parts or pics and he'd try to help. Arrived with pics and, amazingly, after spending 30 minutes determining the correct part, Gene emerged from his parts bin with 2 new plugs. I threaded them back into block and presto - problem solved. His extra effort to help and a mere $5 in parts saved our family weekend. I'm old school and appreciate genuine service - Deckhands delivers in spades.

Great people and good service. I have known Gene for over 20 years, but didn't buy a boat till about 9 years ago. A small bass boat. He does all my yearly check ups. Two weeks ago all my electrical went out and I couldn't figure out what I did. I ask Gene to take a look. He told me he was working alone and it would be awhile. That's OK with me, because I knew he would fine it and check the rest of the boat working to make sure all was good. Well, it only took two days and found a loose wire behind the dash board. Fixed! I'm back out in the water. Thanks.
