Great online telescope store, they now own Meade Telescopes which is great since I own a Meade 10 inch scope.

These guys continue to disappoint.This time it’s because they offer expedited shipping on their web page only to refuse to ship it that way stating, “We can’t ship expedited, and only be standard.”Then, even though they list items as in stock on their website only to send an email after saying they aren’t.Lastly, when you go to their webpage, the first thing you see this week is “Order stuff for the eclipse.” But, virtually nothing on that page is available until 2024.Because their shop is fairly local, I want to give them my business. But, their business practices seem to want you not to be able to use them.The really funny thing is that I went to the site for a solar filter for our binoculars as I already have a solar telescope. But, as an impulse buy, I wanted to upgrade to a Coronado scope for the upcoming eclipse. But alas, not only will I not have the solar covers, I won’t have the telescope either.Their loss because I’ll cancel unless they can guarantee I receive it prior to us leaving for Oregon.

Today 7/22/23 I came in and talked with a nice guy named Rich. I was gifted a Celestron and Rich shared some much appreciated education and while he did not have the specific piece I needed he pointed me in the right direction. I did actually end up purchasing a "beginner" telescope just in case I was ultimately unable to find what I needed for the other unit. Would visit this shop again. I would also say the Orion Skyscanner I purchased seemed reasonably priced. Thanks - Eric

I bought an Orion Space Probe Equatorial Reflector telescope I looked through the focuser drawtube and I was not able to see my eye in the draw tube. I 'am in the process trying to be collimating the optics. I called Orion they told me to see the video.Carey Kruse

I wanted a better tripod for my spotting scope, and the gentleman there was able to find one that was just right. We did call the day before to make sure they'd be around. We talked a bit longer about astrophotography -- he was very knowledgeable and I felt he could speak technically or non-technically to suit the customer's understanding. Great experience.

A real telescope store. These people know the hobby and are very helpful. Anything you need is that this store. Very good products. Even though they provide free shipping, it is well worth the 3-hour drive from my house to visit the store. Being an employee owned business, they provide excellent customer service. I have purchased several telescopes and numerous accessories from Orion, and will continue doing business with them.

I needed a part for my telescope. I found this location on the internet and decided to take a drive there. They don't answer their door in person and only spoke on the intercom ,saying they don't sell anything. I was pretty disappointed.

Although I ended up returning my purchase (not Orion's fault), they made the purchase and return process simple and easy. I recommend buying directly from them though, not through amazon as it takes an extra week or two for your return to be processed if it goes through Amazon. I also recommend being present when your telescope gets delivered (if that's what you're getting) because the box is huge and I wouldn't want to leave it sitting around for too long, it may gain some unwanted attention (again though, not Orion's fault). Packaging and products were great, any negative experiences I had in the process were not Orion's fault, in fact, every interaction I had with them was exceptional.

Called these guys twice to ask about a few products and how to connect them (telescope and guidescope, camera and telescope). Both people I've talked to on the phone were extremely knowledgably, excited to talk all things astronomy, and couldn't wait to tell me more. Really refreshing from the same calls I tried to have with one of their distributors that had no answers. Would recommend over and over again. I'll be buying Orion products from now on, and going straight to the source.

I'm writing this to let you everyone know what I've heard about Orion support being bad is true. I order an Orion AccuFous Electronic Telescope Focuser through High Point Scientific that was defected. They sent 5 emails about this, their first was on August 2nd and I sent one August 10th and got an automatic reply from Orion system. I also called August 7th and was told that someone would call me within 24 hours about this issue. We got nothing from Orion on this matter. So, for me I will no longer look at purchasing anything again from your company and I will be giving Orion a 1-star rating.Tom BertaCharleston SC
