Such a lovely space. Always a diversity of mediums and styles! And if you want something beautiful, local, and original to hang on your walks, you can find affordable pieces, framed and unframed. Smiling, friendly staff. Even the bathroom has great art...

Pajaro Valley Arts is nestled in an area of Watsonville, Ca. The displays present different ways fiber from plants and animals can be used to express art in creative ways.

Such a wonderful creative, and satisfying place to have a Glass of wine. Meeting new people, sharing, feeling inspired, and trying out a new hobby such as art.

I found this wonderful art gallery as I was looking through the list of North American Reciprocal Museums (1000 museums you can visit for free with a membership from any of the museums). Entrance was free, anyway. But I was so glad that I'd made the detour to this city where I wouldn't expect to find great art. The charming gallery rooms are in a Queen Anne-style home from 1900. (For instance, there were ceramics and glassware in the former kitchen.) I've traveled the world looking at art... I'm cautious about shows of work by local artists, especially outside major cities. But the art in this "Art To Go!" exhibition was all high-quality and excellent (much more so than at the nearby Santa Cruz Art League, where I would have expected good art). Although the Watsonville/Pajaro area can be rough, PVA is in a well-maintained home in a pleasant and safe neighborhood. This isn't far from Highway 1; it's farther from Highway 101. If other exhibitions are as good as this one, it's worth a detour from either road.

The Pajaro Valley Arts Council and Gallery opened for the first time in six months since the pandemic arrived on US shores. They promoted safe and socially distant viewing by encouraging visitors to wear masks and making appointments so visitors do not overlap. I went to see the exhibition on Campesinos and it was amazing! I highly recommend this little arts gem!
