Staff and doctors always efficient, friendly and professional. Booked appointment online and was seen in less than a week. I've been going to Golden for thirty years. No complaints.

First thing this review is not directed to the employees there, they are great and really nice and attentive I have no issue with the staff there. My issue is with management and the new owners. Recently went in for my yearly check up and everything went great and fine with no issues or anything. But as soon as I wanted to order my glasses I was informed that they're not able to order them since the size of my glasses since it isn't something they stock and they cant order that size and that I'm only able to get the sizes that they have. That didn't make sense to me since I have the size I need on my current pair, but that they'd be able to switch the lenses out if I order the glasses elsewhere but I wouldn't be able to utilize my insurance if I did that. I mean that's completely unfair to the customer, I've been going there for the past 6-8 years and every time I've gotten a pair of glasses I haven't had any issues like this. Ever since they went corperate it just been downhill. So now I've got to look for a new optometrist which is extremely disappointing since I've been used to this place and the staff for years. Hopefully the owners actually read the reviews and take into consideration that not every pair that they stock will fit every customer the same.

I've been going to this office for a long time, maybe 10 years. And normally people are nice, BUT today I called and Erika answered and it was so pleasant to talk to her, I could see her smile through the phone, very polite, helpful and genuine. She deserves a day off with pay

I have been wearing corrective lenses for over 28 years. I mainly come here because this optometrist works with Bartley Optical in Irwindale which is one of the main labs in the area that provides Crizal lenses and coatings from Essilor. I have a basic prescription and never really came here to see any particular doctor. For me it was mainly because they could get Crizal coatings. Now that I think about it, all of these years they never really had a good selection of frames, especially adult frames. The majority of the frames now (and then) are geared towards children, and the majority of the styling are similar. But because they except my insurance and could get Crizal coated lenses I didn't really think anything of it at the time. I would basically come in, get an exam, but when it came time to selecting a frame I would go online, or visit other local optometrist to try on frames, and then rite down the frame model of the ones I wanted. I would call Golden Optometric's and they would let me order up to two frames to try and call me when they were in stock. I would decide which ones I wanted and place the order with my lenses and was able to use my insurance. But when I went in today everything seemed off and generally "run down", all of the office chairs and testing equipment were in really poor and worn condition, and now that I'm thinking about it, everything was filthy. The chairs they have you sit on while testing are so worn out you can feel the screws on your bottom. If I'm not mistaken I think they were the same worn out chairs they had two years ago when I last visited. As far as the exam, Dr. Lee saw me and spent maybe less than 5 minutes with me during my exam. To be frank everything she told me seemed very quick and pre scripted, she just seemed like she was going through the motions. But in my mind I'm over looking these things because I know my eyes are generally fine and I'm mainly coming for new specs. Long story short, after I was quickly rushed out of the exam room I sat down to get pricing. It was at this point they basically told me they no longer order frames and they only sell what they have. Which as far as I'm concerned isn't much of anything. It's kind of crazy to me to be honest, in all of my years wearing glasses, every optometrist could order frames? At that point I'm just thinking to myself what does this place really have to offer me anymore? I can't use my insurance here to order frames so essentially I have to buy them elsewhere or buy the frames out of pocket and just use the insurance to pay for the lenses here, what's benefit at that point? You're better off going somewhere else unless your happy with there selection. What's changed? Well, I did learn via email a while back that the owner Dr. Golden passed away (RIP). One of the employees told me the business was sold and under new ownership. When I heard that, it all made sense. As far as I'm concerned if you are going to buy someones business and consumer base, and keep the name you should really try to maintain the standards of the original owner (unless of course you are improving, but from what I saw that's not the case). If not then change the name to something else. It kind of reminds me of a favorite restaurant you like and then a new owner takes over and ruins everything. That's my two cents.

There is a long wait, even with an appointment. The optometrist was thorough but the receptionists were kind of rude.

Unfortunately, after DECADES of being a patient there, my family and I will be finding another optometrist. Since the new ownership took over, this office is not the same. My son has been waiting for his glasses for over a month. When he called he was told he had to wait another one to two weeks...did they forget to send his order to the lab?Additionally, they will not take our double coverage any longer. This had never been a problem before. I'm not the only unhappy patient, some of my coworkers are thinking of leaving too.

Office setting is very spacious and clean. The staff is professional and courteous. I was impressed that every staff member during my visit shared the same professionalism and respect. I hadn't planned to take my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter with me, but circumstances at home dictated that she accompany me. The staff was very accommodating. I highly recommend this business for your optometric needs.

Customer service was horrible.send all that work the front desk to a customer service training.I only went to pick up my glasses and they wouldn't help me because I forgot my mask and they do not supply any for their customers. But yet your able to try on all their glasses and take your mask off.Couldn't even bring them to me while I waited outside. They don't even deserve the 1 star review To all that I recommended this cult place I'm sorry.
