The West Hollywood Gelsons is extremely subpar. The food is not fresh. The rotisserie chicken is days old and dry. You They don't get a high enough customer turnover for the produce to be fresh. They are also more expensive than other Gelson's. It is worth driving the distance to the Gelsons on Hyperion Avenue, or Los Feliz for fresher produce at a lower price.

I had no success in placing a delivery order from this store. All I got were error messages despite the order being placed correctly. Delivery function must be broken.

The store is always beautiful and clean. Bright lights and beautiful displays make me want to buy more than I should. Best deal on dog treats. And finally, a huge plus, how friendly and helpful the staff is for finding things and at checkout.

It's a great place and there is a variety of delicious organic foods as well as nonorganic. I bought the same items about five days later at Amazon fresh and the price was less than half at Amazon fresh. I do appreciate quality food, and I found the same quality at both locations, but the prices for dramatically different. They were the same products just drastically reduced. To be completely fair though I was given a coupon for 20% off my entire purchase a $50 or more at Amazon fresh when I walked in the door and that might've contributed to the great savings, but it still doesn't account for me spending over $200 at Gelsons and $87 at Amazon for approximately the same items. Follow me if you want to find more savings and great locations.

I decided to visit the other day and concluded... I really don't understand why people go to Gelsons. Unless you live across the street (even then...) there is no reason to go a Gelsons. Gelsons are among the priciest supermarkets. They are up there with Bristol Farms and Erewhon and are considerably more than Whole Foods. But Gelsons offers nothing special. At least Bristol Farms has premium selection and items you can't get elsewhere. I don't mind paying for Bristol Farms because their selection is special. Whole Foods has a far better selection at cheaper price too. Gelsons look like old fashion 1970s supermarkets with 2030s prices. This particular location doesn't even have a real meat department. They sell average everyday brands and selections that every other market (besides Trader Joe) sells. Yet it is busy, people go out of their way to go here! Everything they sell here you can get at Ralphs, Whole Foods, Vons/Pavilions for much cheaper.

The staff here are always so friendly and positive. It really makes a difference when shopping and I appreciate how helpful they are as well! Keep it up, Gelsons!

Got their Thanksgiving dinner package for 8 people. All of the food was very very good. I'd especially praise one of the manager, Evelyn, who, after a small snafu, assured that I left a happy and satisfied customer!

This review is actually for the Viktor Benes Bakery inside Gelson's, although the supermarket itself seemed really nice. Back in the day, we used to really enjoy getting Princess Cake from IKEA, but for some reason they stopped selling them many years ago. So when we found out that Viktor Benes Bakery was selling them, we obviously had to stop by. We grabbed a Princess Cake from the Viktor Benes counter and took it outside to eat. It's very good. It definitely reminded me strongly of the version we used to get at IKEA, and the strong marzipan taste was pretty irresistible. I guess my one complaint would be that overall it was maybe just a little too sweet. I feel like every component was sweet (the jam, the cream, the cake, etc) and it all added up to sugar overload. That's a pretty minor complaint for something I really enjoyed eating, though.

I don't typically write reviews but my recent trip to this Gelson's was very unpleasant. An employee approached me and goes, 'you might want to get your dog checked'. After some back and forth I realize he's accusing my dog of getting sick on their floor. Regardless if my pet did or did not, his approach wasn't very friendly. I then walk over to where the man says my pet got sick and ask the woman standing next to the mess, 'did you see my dog get sick?' she replies she did not but the mess appeared after my dog and I were there. I then apologize to the man mopping up the mess and he wouldn't even make eye contact with me... I truly don't think my dog got sick; she was walking beside me our whole trip and I never heard or saw her get sick. Again, regardless if my pet did or did not, the way I was treated wasn't kind. I hope the next time a spill or mess is made in their store, the employees would refrain from making their patrons feel bad.

i bought 3 dozen eggs. There was a "bad" egg, or "bad" eggs. I had to throw them all out. There was a hard congealed material inside the eggs. I have never seen that before.I could not trust that the eggs were ok

We visited Gelson's to get a quick lunch today and we were not disappointed! The deli counter service was excellent and the sandwiches were fresh. The ready made salads were fresh and tasty. There were 4 checkouts open with no more than one customer in each line so leaving was speedy! There is a giant case with cold drinks to choose from as well as a salad bar, hot bar, sushi bar, fresh and hot pizzas and sandwiches. Everyone in your lunch party can get what they want and it tastes great!

Finding exactly what I was shopping for and being surprised that the prices have not increased in the way other stores have. Thank you for being fair and reasonable about your price point.

We have always shopped at Gelson’s. But I have to admit that I believe there has been a big change in the quality of the vegetable and fruit being offered.

I remembered, I wish I could find a way to let the Management at the store now that they are taking in the hot food too early post pandemic. Everything is broken down and cleaned up and put away hours before the store closing. I understand wanting to get it done so you can get out of there but it’s about an hour or so earlier than it used to be. And I wanted to tell the Management that the staff doesn’t seem to be as friendly any longer. I used to rank the staff at the grocery stores with Gelsons almost and Trader Joe’s, about the same. followed by pavilions, but I feel that pavilions has now surpassed the friendliness of Gelsons. It’s like you could be anywhere now certainly do not have the same friendly attitude. Honestly I know the food market is tough but the store could use a refresh. Believe me, I know when you’re offering high-end products at high end prices with customers who are entitled and a bit strange it is not easy. But that’s what you do and that’s where you locate so you need to figure it out.

The staff is super friendly at this store. I shop here multiple times per week and always leave with a smile. The aisles are always stocked and organized and some of my favorite products were on sale my most recent trip!
