Spent ~$30 for a couple rotisserie chickens and a cheese, partially dehydrated apricot squares, and Spanish nuts. Not the biggest selection; decent selection to fit the need. 5 min walk from BW hotel across the way.

I've lived on the street next to this Ralphs for the last year so I would be in the store all the time. Eventually I got to know all the employees since I was in the store multiple times every day, and most of them are great nice people- this is why it caught me completely off guard when everything happened. I was in the self checkout lane with a friend of mine and we were getting ready to leave when the cashier regulating the self checkout starts interrogating us as to whether we paid for the bag. She was extremely condescending and rude and basically just started attacking us out of nowhere. The other customers around were all just staring in shock at her behavior. First of all, I did pay for the bag, and second of all, I have spent thousands of dollars at this store just to be treated like a thief over a bag that costs TEN CENTS? Obviously she did not care about the bag and was looking for a reason to pick a fight. When I told her she had no right to be rude to me and my friend, she got very agitated starting raising her voice and pointing at us in a very unstable manner. The other customers were just shocked and staring at this point. She called out children at the end before leaving, we're both 25 year old women and she's older which we understood then that there's some sort of resentful energy towards us and We just walked away without a bag because it wasn't worth dealing with her instability, and then when we talked to her manager she said "oh I'm sorry thats very out of character
she's just having a bad day". As if that is a reason to treat people
so horribly?

When I was single, I used to get dressed up to go here, hoping that I would meet my husband, but I would only see like homeless people fighting. Maybe grocery shopping at 3 o’clock in the morning is not where it’s at. Lol

Lana, not all people are from America and familiar with the concept of your store locking up in particular batteries and having to request it at the register. When a customer asks for assistance, provide the customer service you’re supposed to. If you don’t enjoy your job and can’t be kind or maintain professionalism, maybe it’s time to remove yourself from customer service so you don’t ruin anyone else’s day. You don’t know what people are going through and don’t understand the impact of being impolite. You couldn’t even bother to turn around to your customer and say hi or nicely advise what to do to a tourist. RUDE, unprofessional and arrogant women. Lana in self serve 10pm, 14th April.

Misleading pricing
Patrons of this Ralph’s have long grown accustomed to the Third World conditions of the premises and surrounding environment. The store’s parking lot and sidewalks resemble a sad and dirty homeless shelter. Vagrants in different stages of undress and sobriety menacingly lurk about - morning, noon, and night. As one might expect, the store is dirty, and the exterior is absolutely filthy. Such is life in this area.
Of even greater concern, I recently noticed multiple instances of deceptive pricing. Here are just two clear examples.
Tags on the shelf indicated that bottles of 40oz Pinesol cleaner were priced at $2.64, part of a clearance sale. I carefully checked the product, sizing, and price displayed on the shelf, as the advertised price was significantly below what I am accustomed to paying for this product (usually around $4.99). Upon checking out, the cash register charged a price of $7.99, a massive difference. I brought this to the attention of the check-out person, who then went to inspect the price on the shelf where the Pinesol was stocked. After several minutes, she returned and attempted to explain that while the price displayed on the shelf was indeed $2.64, that price applied to a batch of Pinesol – same product, same size – that had completely sold out. The $7.99 price charged at the register applied to the batch that was currently stocked on the shelf – same product, same size. Only by comparing the 12-digit serial numbers on the shelf tag and the product label could one ascertain that there was any difference (despite the fact that the higher and lower prices both pertained to the same product, same size with the only difference being their respective product codes).
On a different date, I sought to purchase Power Crunch protein bars. In this instance, the shelf tags, printed in bold red ink and yellow highlighting, depicted a price of 2 for $3.00 (equating to $1.50 per bar). I grabbed a box of 12 bars, expecting a total price of $18. However, the total price for the box of 12 came to $23.88 (which works out to $1.99 per unit). When I mentioned the discrepancy to the checkout person, I was asked whether I had photographed the price shown on the shelf. Not aware of the need to prove my case, I had not accumulated any such evidence. I made a point of doing so the next time I visited and encountered the identical situation – the shelf tag stating a price of $1.50 per bar and the register charging a price of $1.99 per bar. This time, when presented with the photo on my iPhone, the cashier smoothly explained that the $1.50 price applied to individual bars. The collection of 12 bars in a box commanded a different, higher price per unit of $1.99. The matter was easy to fix – I simply removed the 12 bars from the cardboard box and was charged the lower price of $1.50 per unit. The point is that nowhere on the shelf - where the cost of this product was displayed - was this sneaky, underhanded pricing trick disclosed.
One should be able to trust that the prices shown on the grocery store shelves are accurate and not be required to painstakingly audit whether the prices charged at the checkout register are different than advertised on the shelves.

I come here multiple times a week and generally buy the same stuff, always in self-checkout. Today, after waiting forever in the self-checkout line, an employee told me that the stuff I buy every week cannot be bought in the self-checkout line because they are too big. Even though I've done it hundreds of times. Now I'm waiting in the regular line for twenty minutes because you won't hire any more employees because nobody wants to work here for pennies.

I've gone to this store for years. It's close and I know where everything is. But I cannot tell you how many times I've seen expired things in this store! Like I generally check the labels so I've seen expired string cheese, expired almonds and now pretzels. It's my own fault for not checking this bags label but my god. I've never been to a store with this much expired food.

On March 7th, 2024 at around 5pm, Cashier Novena Gonzales refused payment for my groceries saying that my $20 dollar bill was fake. I asked her to run the detector pen over my bill in front of me. She said they have a machine that's a better detector. I asked her to show me and the machine produced an E05 error message. I then ran another bill i had, a $5 through the machine and it resulted in the same message. I spoke with the store manager, Salvador Lopez and showed him and explained the problem. He ran both bills through the machine himself, and both produced the same E05 error message. Then Salvador Lopez told me that my $5 was good but the $20 wasn't. When i asked for an explanation he got irate and asked for another form of payment. I didn't have anything else to pay with for my groceries as i ran out of the house without my wallet. He told me to pay another way or get out. When I insisted on an explanation Salvador Lopez started yelling at me and threatened to call security to get me out of the store. I basically got bullied out of the store without an explanation and denied an opportunity to buy groceries. It was very embarrassing, insulting and traumatic to me, particularly the ruthlessness and a complete lack of logic in the actions of the employees. I live in the neighborhood and am a long-time customer (10+ years) at this store. It's always been a little hectic in terms of customer service, but i have never been outright discriminated against so blatantly and unapologetically by the staff of this store. Not only have they wasted 30 minutes of my time but they publicly embarrassed me in front of other customers and did not allow me access to a basic need - food and water. The incident was unjustified, and traumatic to me and i am pursuing legal action regarding this matter. They have no right to treat people in this inhumane manner. It's downright barbaric and rude. I thought we live in America, not the Soviet Union, but I could be wrong...

I’m only putting 2 stars as my friends work there.Today I was insulted and confused by another dog owner. To make the story short they want to kick me outside since “supposedly” my dog poop! Seriously?? There more than 12 dogs inside at the same time and you come to me ? ? Totally wrong. You can’t show up and target a person with out any evidence and everyone knows you guys were wrong. Not even an apology! I will report this to the Management ! Shame on you! I love Ralph’s but not this behavior.

Great variety of products, but during rush hours traffic is mad and people with carts are blocking everything. May be wider aisles would help?
