We had a wedding today and our hairstylist bailed on the bride and wedding party and dry bar came thru helping 6 of us for the big day. Not only did they accommodate, but we’re so kind and helpful. They went above and beyond.Service: Updos

FAVORITE DRYBAR!

I scheduled an appointment for a dry style and had to cancel within 12 hour cancellation policy since my photoshoot ended up getting cancelled due to weather. I called salon twice and left a voicemail 2 hours prior to my appointment. No answer or returned call. I cancelled online because I was getting nervous about not hearing back from them. I decided to go since cancellation policy is $25, why not have my hair look nice for $10 more just because? I show up before my appointment time and they tell me they can take me but still have to charge me the $25 cancellation plus the $35 dry style fee. I said forget it, I ended up leaving with my name and phone number to have the shop manager to call me back. Never received anything. Where is the kindness, humanity and perspective? Drybar Westlake has officially lost my business for good.Services: Blowdry

The service is excellent. The hair wash is thorough. All the stylists do a fantastic job (save one). I am appalled, however, by the pricing. In just over a year, they raised their price from $45 to $50 to $55. Now, it just went up again to $59.00! Perhaps I should take my business elsewhere.Service: Blowouts

I would say that 98% of the time I love my hair by the time I leave. My issue is with the manager. She has little to no customer service skills. She sometimes seems almost confrontational with people at check-in. When the 2 gentleman receptionist checks you in they are always warm and welcoming. In contrast to the manager that makes you feel like you are burdening her. I'm writing this review because I witnessed her reprimanding one of the nice guys at the front desk. In front of 4 clients. You could tell that he was embarrassed. She was demeaning, rude and she showed that she has no business being in a leadership role.

Not sure where to start. Blowout was decent, although my stylist never asked me what I wanted and just assumed because I inquired regarding a product that I wanted a straight style; luckily she was correct. No conversation at all, not too friendly. Lots of employees standing around talking about customers, their upcoming holiday weekend, etc. Salon looked less than stellar, lack of product availability, not very clean and a "wait time" to get my hair shampooed. Water was ice cold; was told basically "too bad" that they have to share the hot water. Really unfortunate that this location has really gone "downhill". I assume the franchise owner is basically disconnected from the salon and does not care. Results will be apparent sooner rather than later. Will never visit this location again.

Careful locals... if you have a daughter coming here for homecoming, or any other event, be cautious. They refused to see my daughter at her allotted appointment time because her hair was damp from an earlier shower. At no point was I notified of this rule ahead of time. They never even answer their phone for questions. The front desk person was cold and couldn't care less that we made this appoint far in advance or that it was for homecoming. She made no effort to make it work. And did they even give us money back? No. If you have a special event, I would never go here or trust this place. What a scam. Go to a regular stylist.

Had an appointment for 3:15. Received a call at 2:50 stating they were backed up and asking to move us to the calabasas location. The appointment was time sensitive and that would not work. We were told to still come at 3:15 but that it would be a 30 minute wait. I asked if i could come at 3:45 then. The answer was no, you still have to come at 3:15. What??? Made this appointment because of scheduled photos, thinking it would be easier and better than styling at home. I completely regret even making the appointment. Was relying on it and now back to DIY and being rushed on top of that. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to go for your hair styling needs. This was not the right way to handle the situation.

Here's a pics of the email I sent to (what I thought was) Dry Bar Corporate and a portion of it is below (too long for Yelp). See pics for the response from their now parent company, Helen of Troy...DO Better! "Having worked in multi-level retail management in the beauty business for 20+ years, here are my main thoughts: - Stylists should be experts on all hair types and know how to give that hair type the best damn blow dry possible, as that it all Dry Bar does. No flat iron should have been needed for all over my hair to combat frizz from not blow drying my hair type properly from the beginning. - Listen to your clients when they tell you how their hair works, their skin works, how their body works- what ever it is, as we know ourselves. - Give the client what they ask for: A blow dry with bounce, soft and rounded ends by the brush when blow drying. - When delivering results opposite of what a client asks for: bone straight, flat, frizzy, severe looking and a very dry looking blow out- acknowledge the results vs the re lts opposite of what they asked for. It was a waste of my money, waste of my time (as I actually should have been working to prepare for this weekend and honestly, it looks was a big hit on my confidence, when it should have been a fantastic boost. *from looking at the yelp reviews, I'm not the only client to leave feeling this way. I thank you for taking the time to read this very long email (if you actually made it to the end )! I'm attaching pictures I took right after returning home from this appointment- keep in mind what I asked for is: BOUNCE AND ROUNDED TIPS! Also, feel free to scroll back though my social media, you can see I've had many different hair styles, I like to experiment. But, I would never post my hair as it looks now: @katecouturemoncure "
