I took my 10-month-old baby to Kathy at Merle Norman, now located inside Happy Beauty Salon (next to Albertsons — they recently relocated from the Westminster Mall). Kathy was absolutely amazing! She was so professional, gentle, and clean, and my baby only cried for a quick second. The whole experience was smooth, safe, and comforting for both of us.
Her prices are by far the best in the area — many other places charge between $140–$200, which feels excessive for baby earrings. Kathy’s work is top-quality, yet affordable, and you can tell she truly cares about what she does.
I highly recommend her to any parent looking for a trustworthy and kind professional for baby ear piercing. Thank you, Kathy, for making it such a positive experience! 💖

I have been using Merle Norman products for years. Kathy, the owner of the store in Westminster Mall is GREAT. She's so knowable about all the products and will ofter recommend a change from a product I've used over time. I'd rate this store as a firm "10"!!

Brought my 8 year old daughter here to have her ears pierced. She was very nervous, but Kathy helped make her experience just right! Not only did they make the experience exciting for her, but they made her way less scared! We will go back to this location for sure!

I took my daughters (8&11) to get their ears pierced. Kathy was great and very patient with them! She made it a fun and exciting experience. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that they only had 1 bottle of the cleaner left and their supply of earrings was low so there weren't many choices. Also, I wish they had given us an after care instruction sheet.

Back in the day, this Merle Norman store used to be great. Now, it's just so-so. The biggest problem I've had when buying items here are the horrible stock issues. Lucky today they had what I needed now, like their matte moisturizer but they were out of stock on a lip item I wanted. They did offer to ship the lip product for free to me, which was nice. Browsing around I still noticed very low or out of stock on several products and makeup shades throughout the store. I think next time I will order online direct from Merle Norman website just in case they are out of stock on what I need next and save me an unnecessary trip to the mall. Also, I saw prices were cheaper online too.

The Westminister store is owned by the same person who owns the Torrance location. I will not return to either location. The first time they double-charged my credit card — I was charged around $600 instead of $300. I had to go back, and was treated in a very nasty manner by Mina. The second problem is that both locations are under-stocked or “sold out” on half the colors. I found myself settling for items that were available rather than buying colors that were my #1 first choice. Each time I made a selection they kept telling me they were “sold out“ on the colors. They would have lip liners with no lipstick to match lipstick without the matching liner. As a result, I exchanged a couple of items to try to match colors because the selection was so limited at both stores. Kathy was slightly more accommodating at Westminister but I did not appreciate the comments that were made after I left the store which were repeated to me by the Torrance location. SEE PHOTOS BELOW. As obvious by the photo, I buy a lot of cosmetics not only for myself but for several other women in my family. The customer service at Merle Norman is not what it used to be. You don’t need to graduate from Harvard law school to know that treating clients with respect and basic decency is the most important thing in business. Overall—one star because I was disappointed in the customer service.

Mina is wonderful! This is the best place to get your children's ears pierced in the South Bay. The staff is warm, encouraging, very kid friendly, patient. They are total Pros at what they do.
