Had an 8:00 am reservation for a car. They wanted us to drive to another location 20 minutes away to get a car, or wait for a driver to drop off a car. We waited an hour and the offered us an electric car to drive to another location to get another car but cut the deal here. They knew prior to closing that they had not cars. No call to warn us, no discount. Asked for district managers name and number but were refused. This place is unprofessional. I used to work for Hertz so I know how things should work. Awful treatment.

They were extremely helpful and very cool.they hooked us up with an amazing Nissan Altima hybrid and it only cost $80 to get across the United States.

If you’re in a rush do not rent a car when these guys are here. You’ll be waiting for an hour.
They’re slow, and instead of completing your check out so you can leave; they’ll stop what they’re doing to talk to customers about something irrelevant .
Then, the guy on the left doesn’t know what he’s doing so the guy helping me out had to stop.. again. For the 10th time.
Horrible.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I recently received at your Whittier location. As a frequent renter who relies on your company for my professional responsibilities as a state employee, I expect to be treated with basic respect and fairness.
During my last visit, I was appalled by the conduct of Dan, Jose, and another male staff member. Their behavior toward me as a female customer was not only dismissive but bordered on outright rudeness. Their tone and comments, including being told, “hey, it’s a working car with wheels,” when I expressed concern about being assigned a highlighter-colored vehicle, were unprofessional and carried clear undertones of machismo. The sarcasm from Dan’s supervisor only compounded the issue.
As a woman who often drives alone to visit clients, I do not feel safe or comfortable being forced to take a vehicle that draws unnecessary attention. My requests have always been reasonable: a standard, reliable vehicle—nothing extravagant. Instead, I was met with disrespect and made to feel as though my concerns were irrelevant.
I have tolerated subpar service at this location for the sake of convenience, but this experience has made it clear that my business is not valued. I am not asking for special treatment or a handout—simply fairness and respect as a paying customer.
Please be advised that I will not return to this location and will be taking my business elsewhere, even if it means paying more for the respect and professionalism I deserve. I strongly urge Hertz to address the attitude and conduct of the staff at this branch to ensure no other customer is subjected to similar treatment.

Great Place to rent vehicles from. Dave and Jesus are the Best!! Rather drive a little further to go to their location than go to a closer spot. Clean vehicles, great pricing and the Customer service is Excellent!

I debated on leaving a review. I had a similar experience to another review where they “didn’t have availability” and needed to upgrade. The first rental was dirty and smelled of drug smoke and they threw a strong air freshener in the car and called it good, also no gas and there was other trash in the car. I exchanged and the second car had a check engine light on. Not very reassuring. One guy, I think Dave? David? was pretty helpful and did a good job of answering my questions. Another guy was not good at communication and is not service oriented. Every interaction with him, I completely dreaded.
I like Hertz as a company though and they have already provide excellent help with what happened which I really appreciate.

I’m very disappointed with Hertz’s customer service, especially regarding the return of my deposit. After returning the vehicle, I waited four days and still hadn’t received my deposit back. When I called to ask about it, they immediately blamed my bank, saying it was out of their hands and I needed to contact them. However, when I spoke with my bank, they confirmed that Hertz still had a hold on the funds — meaning the delay was entirely on Hertz’s end. As of today 04/07/2025 still waiting for my deposit. The vehicle was return 03/27/2025.
To make things worse, I noticed a random charge of $52 on my statement that no one at Hertz could explain. I called customer service again, and they were unable to provide any information about the charge. Now I’m stuck in the middle, waiting for my money to be released and trying to figure out why I was charged in the first place. I currently have a dispute with my bank for the charge.
Be very cautious when booking with Hertz. Double-check your receipts and monitor your bank or credit card statements closely. Their lack of accountability and poor customer support made this a frustrating experience I would not want others to go through.

Only one staff working most of the time so the wait can get crazy. Small lots and often problems with car availability. Tell you they don't have any cars on the reservation and force you to pay for upgrades. The cars aren't often cleaned and aren't fueled up, rentals that only have little fuel left then say not much they can do. One staff in particular has a bit of an attitude, and unprofessional with the way he handles things.

Easy to use, very accommodating, friendly staff, and good price. Definitely would use them again.
