Willits Safeway leaves a lot to be desired.Long lines poor selection cramped store,I would suggest driving the extra miles to Ukiah Safeway if you want an excellent selection of groceries.

Surprised by all the bad reviews, I've been going to this Safeway for 22 years and still see some of the same staff there..Look, this is no foo foo place like Whole Foods, Willits is a small town and you have to put up with some small inconveniences but over all I've never have had a bad experience and us long time shoppers there are thankful..

This is the worst Safeway I have ever been to my first complaint being that the bathroom was clogged and almost flooded when I came in so I had to relieve myself in the corner of the stall! I then got some barbecue chicken from the deli, the guy serving me chicken nearly drooled in my food as he handed it to me so I think Safeway needs new employees. When I finally tried the chicken it tasted like a burnt orphanage and I almost vomited.

Has anyone one else had the pleasure of going through Gail’s line at Safeway? What an angry little troll. She about lost her little mind that we had more than 15 items in her, not clearly marked, express lane. It is not bad enough paying these stupid prices but to be glared at, our expensive groceries tossed around and then she points out we had 34 items- you were the one who said you would check us out. Hey Gail, maybe working at Safeway is not for you. Hopefully, we are not the only people who had to experience that garbage customer service from Gail.

The cashier did not ring up every item that the guy in front of me put on the belt. Instead, he charged me for the items. When I went back to return the items (literally 30 seconds after paying), he rolled his eyes and proceeded to tell me I must have put the items there. Unfortunately, I had no need for canned cranberry and pickles. It was obviously the guy who was purchasing his Christmas dinner items. Either way I smiled and said ok. As I was leaving, he lets me know if I do it again, he wont be giving me my money back. Again I smiled and said ok. He proceeded to say something under his breath (that I won't repeat what my wife thought she heard) and when I turned to give the gentlemen the reaction he was seeking, my wife stepped in and reminded me that the cashier was an idiot. He should thank his lucky stars my wife stepped in or the reaction he was seeking was the reaction he was going to get. I don't remember the guys name, but he spoke with some sort of speech impediment. He lacked any class and his shirt was as dirty as a two year old child eating spaghetti. Casually wiping the snot from his nose as he rang up my items. Safeway should probably have him in the back, away from people who spend their money at this establishment.

Well we may not have choices beyond here for groceries and food at reasonable costs, we can count on a smiling face most of the time and staff willing to correct mistakes on the receipt. This place has been a cornerstone of the community since the late 1930s and it has changed its layout and faces since with new staff joining all the time. The Albertsons takeover as corporate owner has led to many hiccups along with Covid supply and demand, yet they continue to make do with what they have and realize as community members themselves the issues that still persist.The Starbucks is the Latest Upgrade along with Pickup and Go option that saves a long wait when spots are open. The APP is a must as savings abound with point redemption available on everyday products when gas is not needed, they even have a hidden receipt record hidden at the bottom of the wallet page that makes sure your order was right with staff accepting it as an option of default for those computer hiccups.

Went in on Mother's Day the lady at the floral department was making a bunch of arrangements and I asked about them she said it would be a while to have them done. I only wanted one and she seemed like she would not go out of her way just to get one done for me. Bad customer service

I hope folks that read reviews take in consideration a number of the poor reviews we read are based on triggered emotions but hey to each their own. They do have the freedom to express themselves how they see fit. At least that's what my take is when reading some of the reviews about this Safeway. But seriously, how do you expect a business to control what "type" of customer comes in? To a business a customer is simply that..a customer. As a customer, I found this Safeway to be very well stocked. I was surprised to see that a grocery store in a smallish town would have sushi and pork buns. The bbq pork in the deli was fresh, moist and delicious. The sandwiches were "created" by an artist as well. The customer service provided by the checker was just right. I would think people would be more understanding of the challenges this location presents and in my professional opinion, this Safeway deserves a five star review. So here it is! :) Keep it up and I would hope Safeway continues to keep their Safeway in Willits open even in lieu of the unappreciative reviews.

I went into this gas station yesterday and the male cashier never said hello, never asked if I needed any help, never said thank you and never once put his phone down. That is the worst customer service I have ever experienced my life. And when I told him his customer service was crap he started laughing at me.

There are Safeways that are part of the fabric of a bigger city, and then there are Safeways where it seems like anyone in 50 square miles depends on them as their sole shopping resource. This Safeway feels like the latter. Willits may be a small town, but this Safeway is hopping, and not necessarily in a good way. We stopped in for some supplies and a coffee (see separate Starbucks review). The store is your typical Safeway with some expensive prices and hit-or-miss selection. The clientele are a cross section of humanity: farmers, hippies, tourist families, but mostly folks passing through town. In general, it's a little smaller and a lot more crowded, leading to a less than stellar experience. Still, they do fill a need and we were able to get everything we came in for. Balance your expectations and you'll probably walk away with the same opinion.
