A must visit as Phinneas Banning helped in the founding and connecting of Willington to los angeles. Great tour...bit uptight about children and touching stuff...but gave a great knowledgeable tour.

Having lived in Wilmington for the first four years of my life, I have never been here before. The Banning house was built in 1864. And everything for the most part has been left for that time period. The docent, I believe his name was Anthony, was very knowledgeable about the antiques and the history! It's free and I highly recommend it!

I visited this park because of the Labor Day parade that was going on unfortunately the daily breeze didn't post a damn thing about the Labor Day but they did post about the walk across the Vincent Thomas bridge, what a shame absolute shame Labor Day parade is one of the biggest in Southern California thousands of people were there along with elected representatives we had a blast.

Wrong hours on Google. Drove down twice, expecting them to be open. They are closed Monday's and Fridays. That is their office hours, not tour hours. Do not show up on either of those days expecting them to be open. *I updated my score because the ladies there were kind when they were open*

It's a very special place, part of long-lost California's history. House built by Phineas Banning, handsome self-made man, who owned a warf and a newspaper, was married twice, and had about dozen of children. Very well preserved, even though the furniture is not all original. The guided tour was excellent. But it's not open everyday, so check the schedule on the website to avoid closed doors.

I drove by this neighborhood and got my attention this antique Banning museum, so I took some photos around that I share with the public...also there is a park around where many people use to walk or simply enjoy with the family....

Cool relics, was a bit disappointed when asked about"hemp," and the important role it played in all is history, which was met with hopefully a learning curve up ahead. Hopefully this is the case. As far as antiquity, a lot of history, but without the teaching on hemp, flawed. Just FYI

Labor Day Parade and Picnic saw the celebration of union supported workers coming together @Banning Park and Museum. Thousands of workers with family members, friends and supporters marched through Wilmington to the park. Then enjoyed the food, music, speeches and children's entertainment zone.

You need to make a reservation 5 days ahead of time and you can’t take pictures inside the house but it was great! The woman guiding us was very nice and informative. Not required, but a $5 donation for adults was suggested. For a tour that lasted over an hour it was totally worth it! It’s a beautiful home and the staff were great.

I was driving to my brothers home but no one was home. Grabbed lunch and brought it to the park. Big park with all the amenities you need. What makes this park pretty cool is they have a museum in the middle of the park. They also have a long walking trail that covers the whole park. They also have lots of trees with plenty of shade. There is a shady element living around the park but for the most part they keep to themselves. I wouldnt be walking around at night, even though some people do..

I absolutely love this museum! The tour is thorough and the property is well maintained. The museum is on a park where you can barbeque. There is also exercise equipment along the path! If you can, try to book your tour with Lew. He is awesome!! The entrance for the tour is a suggested $5 donation for adults. The donations for kids I am not sure of. But check it out!!
