Winters Fruit Tree is a standalone fruit stand located directly on Grant Ave in the small farm town of Winters. It offers a great and impressive selection of fresh, locally grown fruits, veggies, and nuts. There are so many choices, especially for citrus, with a generous amount of peaches, oranges, nectarines, apples, lemons, limes, grapefruit, and squash. They also have an abundance of walnuts, cashews, almonds, dates, and figs, as well as excellent dry fruit and seeds. The business provides numerous jars of honey in all flavors, almond, oat, and pistachio butters, olives, olive oil, and jam. Customers highly recommend the pears, honey sticks, and pistachios, which come in flavors like cheddar and onion, chile lemon, and sea salt and lime. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, often providing helpful advice. The owner is a wonderful lady full of information. The business, which started over 100 years ago, is known for its fresh produce, reasonable prices, and above-average customer service. Regular hours are 11 am to 5 pm Wednesday through Monday, and they are closed on Tuesday. There is a small, unpaved parking lot with loose gravel. While most visits are met with upbeat and friendly service, experiences can vary. Overall, Winters Fruit Tree is a highly recommended spot for anyone looking for fresh, local, and seasonal products.
BEST eggs! We also love their Pepper-Cot sauce. And the incredible stone fruits — peaches, plums, pluots, apples, pears and more. They don’t spray their fruit. I consider it higher quality than organic certified. You can trust this owner — he’s a great guy & genuinely cares about what he does.
