So many choices for citrus right now! The staff seem like family members, or at least they seem to have a lot of knowledge on the best produce to buy at each time, so definitely ask for them for advice!

For those of you looking to get your fix on fresh, locally grown fruits, veggies, and nuts, you just may want to go off the beaten path and check out "Winters Fruit Tree". For those of you that don't know, Winters is a smaller farm town located in a more rural part of Yolo County. It lies east of Lake Berryessa, north of Vacaville, and west of Davis as its town is adjacent to the Putah Creek. Located directly on Grant Ave (Hwy 128), this fruit stand is a standalone business with no other neighboring businesses in the area. They offer a small parking lot; however it is unpaved and has loose gravel directly outside. Regular business hours are 11am-5pm Wednesday through Monday as they are closed on Tuesday. I had the opportunity coming here as I was passing through and decided to stock up on some fresh fruit. I've got to say that the fruit selection here was quite impressive as they had a generous amount of peaches, oranges, nectarines, apples, lemons, limes, grapefruit, and squash. There was also an abundance of walnuts, cashews, almonds, dates, and figs as well as numerous jars of honey (in all flavors), almond/oat/pistachio butters, olives, and olive oil. During my visit which was during the morning of Saturday 6/17/2023 at around 11:30am, I ended up getting several spring snow-white peaches, honey crisp apples, and a jar of almond butter to take home with me. The three ladies working behind the table were in an upbeat mood that were very friendly during my short visit. Considering this place started over 100 years ago in the 1920's (in Sunnyvale, CA), they have come a very long way while mastering the art of growing only the freshest fruits from their fields. All in all, "Winters Fruit Tree" scores a unanimous five-star rating from me as the selection, freshness of the fruit, reasonable prices, and above average customer service all scored high marks in my book. So if you're ever passing through the Winters area, go check them out!

Excellent dry fruit and seeds, just enough saltiness and a hint of spiciness to elevate its flavor, I really recommend it if you want enjoy a healthy snack.

To say I was excited to visit would be an understatement. I have been eating the pistachios from Winters Fruit Tree for over a year now. The nuts were shipped from a person who lives there. It always seemed like the new flavor they shipped was better than the last. I've had cheddar and onion, chile lemon, sea salt and lime, and at least two or three other flavors. And finally I was there. And the selection was awesome. And there were things I'd never had. So many things. And I had to remind myself, I had a limit in my luggage. So I bought a few to take home, AND a few to eat on my vacation. When we arrived in Winters on a Sunday, we realized that the fruit tree stand would be closed the next couple days and we'd better head straight there. It was the last 40 minutes before they closed. I think maybe it had been a long day. They weren't very friendly. My only downside to the visit. I wish I had taken pictures but my hands were too full.

Small variety but good quality in-season fruit. Plenty of local preserves and olives and a few extras like sodas and ice cream treats.

Winters Fruit Tree participated this weekend at the Outer Sunset Farmers Market. Winters had an extensive variety of Nut Mixes and prepared Jars. Per pound smoked & flavored nuts, plus jams, and nut butters were offered, the vendor reminds me of the hot nut vendors that used to populate the malls when I grew up. 4th & 5th Generation Farm with a focus on dried fruits.
