“Stopped by Wheel World in Woodland Hills today to pick up my son's Giant Trance X2 MTB and couldn't of had a better experience. Great group of guys, especially Tad (Thaddeus) who helped us from the moment we walked in. Although we researched this particular bike for my son's needs prior to ordering Tad gave us more info on the bike and confirmed that it was the right choice which made us feel even better about the purchase. He had my son take it for a spin and made some minor adjustments after and went over the all warranty info with us. Great transaction, quick and efficient. I also met Andreus the bike builder/mechanic who was a great guy as well. Everyone was very personable and welcoming. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.”

“I purchased a new 2022 model Cube SH TM from the hollywood location. Love the bike.
However the rear newmen hub went bad. Had it repaired by few bike shops. All they did was clean and regrease it.
The crunching and skipping came back within a week. Its a bad pawl. I could see it.
So, here is the complaint, after almost 7 months now of back and forth between victor and others who kept saying they were warrantying it, needed super details pictures of serials numbers, etc and the inside of the hub and pawls, etc. I was told by hector that the us newmen hub would be relocating to ventura california and that this is going to take a bit.
A few more months went by, was actually told from the new guy at the calabasas store that a hub was on its way from cube!! SWEET!!!
Welp, that was a lie and never happened. Another month went by, I decided to drop the rear wheel off since at this point I went out and bought some new DTSWISS wheels.
Almost another month, no hub. I go back in and just pick up the wheel deciding it was over. The guy at the calabasas store in the end told me it was greased bad and to just reach out to newmen directly.
So lie and lie and then boom. Nothing.
Thanks.
I have the emails chain that documents all of this if interested.
Oh well.

UPDATE ON 5/29/2024
Noah from the Fly Rides San Diego location called me as this is where I originally posted the review only to get more exposure from possibly the owners.
Long story short - Noah was absolutely a stand up guy. Refunded the cost of a hub straight to my paypal account. Look Im never a person to really complain but damn after spending 8k on a bike and then getting 7 months of nothing, I figured it was time to complain. Thanks so much Fly Rides for helping me out. Will buy from you all again!

“805 Bicycles is an excellent shop for anyone who loves cycling. They have a great selection of bikes, from casual riding to more professional models, and the quality of everything they offer is top-notch. The store is clean, organized, and easy to browse, which makes the shopping experience very enjoyable.
The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. They took the time to answer all of my questions and helped me find the right bike that matched my needs and budget. What stood out to me most was how honest and professional they were — there was no pressure to buy, just genuine advice and guidance.
They also provide excellent repair and maintenance services. You can tell they really care about the bikes and their customers, making sure everything is safe and running perfectly. It’s rare to find such a combination of great products, fair prices, and outstanding service.
I highly recommend 805 Bicycles to anyone in the area looking for a new bike or needing reliable service. This place goes above and beyond, and I’ll definitely be coming back for future needs.”

“Went in to buy a pair of MTB shoes, even though I’m not riding a Specialized bike, Alan looked up my bike’s spec and helped me with the right stuff (which turned out the shoes I was looking for wasn’t the right one). He also helped me picking the right shorts and helmet. He is awesome, and made my experience wonderful.”

“I hadn't done any maintenance on my ebike since I bought it 2 years ago so you can imagine how bad it needed it. I thought I only needed a tune up but there were a lot of issues with my bicycle I didn't know about. These guys went above and beyond to get it all done in a timely manner. They're affordable as well. Best e-bike shop I've ever been to. No matter where you're coming from, it's worth the drive for the quality of work.”

“Helen's cycles is awesome! Can't recommend them highly enough. Super affordable.

Went to two other shops in town and was told I would have at least a week wait. I rolled up to Helen's and spoke to the service manager Wilber. I explained to him that we were only in town for the day and taking our mountain bikes out to death Valley And needed them turned around as quickly as possible, he initially said the following morning but then when we realized we would be leaving town before the shop opened he said no problem I will have them done before 5 PM. I got a text at 1 PM saying the bikes were done!

Went to pick them up and as soon as Wilber saw my van rolling into the parking lot he was doing a final inspection and wheeling them out. Both bikes were serviced way beyond my expectations. Not a single detail was overlooked and they both rode flawlessly. Thanks to Wilber and his team for doing such a great job with my bikes!”

“I have been going to Paul for years for servicing my bike and recently bought some Mondraker e-bikes from him. Paul was super helpful and had the bikes set up and dialed in perfectly. He also gave us an excellent deal and even had financing options.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A rare gem of a bike shop—Atomic Cycles and Paul are the real deal.

If you’re lucky enough to stumble across Atomic Cycles in North Hollywood, you’ve found something special—an old-school, no-frills, soul-of-cycling kind of place. This isn’t some sleek boutique with overpriced parts and cookie-cutter service. This is Paul’s shop—a one-man operation, part museum, part workshop, part time machine—and entirely awesome.

I recently pulled two bikes out of storage after 25+ years of collecting dust. One was a cruiser-style 21-speed, the other my old Klein Stage Comp road bike from my triathlon days. My son is just getting into cycling, so I wanted to see if they could be resurrected. Enter Paul.

From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with nostalgia—cluttered racks, retro parts, classic bikes stacked everywhere, and zero e-bikes (don’t even mention them—Paul will make his feelings known! ?). Then you meet Paul himself: a lean, strong, greying guy in his 50s with oil-stained hands, a frayed shirt, and the calm intensity of a mad scientist-mechanic who knows his craft inside and out.

He’s not there to upsell you or push gimmicks. Paul is a caretaker of bicycles. He brought both my bikes back to life for a price that was literally a fraction of what the big box bike shops wanted to charge. And his work? Impeccable. No BS. Just honest, high-skill labor from someone who clearly lives and loves the cycling life.

If you want e-bike talk and shiny sales floors, go elsewhere. If you want someone who treats your bike like it’s a piece of living history and will get it running better than ever—go see Paul.

This place is more than a bike shop—it’s a living piece of cycling culture. I’m grateful I found it.”

“Great local business with pro staff. I came in recently with a snapped derailleur cable and walked out the door with a fix within the hour. They do great tune-ups and are just all-around a great shop.”

“I don’t know why I haven’t come here before to get my other bikes serviced or repaired, because their service is really top-notch. If you have any questions or want advice, you can ask any of the guys working there, and they’ll tell you things you didn’t even think about things you might need for your bike or changes you could make to improve it. They also have a decent selection of bicycles, ranging from used to new. Whether you’re looking for a beach cruiser, a hybrid bike, or a road bike such as a hardtail, they have it here. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back in the near future to get work done on my bike. This place is also the closest shop to my work, and there’s a bike lane going along Reseda Boulevard running from Victory in Reseda, California up to Lassen in Northridge, California, which is pretty much the route I’d take anyway if I were riding on Reseda Boulevard.

See you guys next time my bike needs fixing.”
