I put up with this veterinarian for many years. Despite her being extremely rude, she's not the warm, fuzzy type. I hoped that she liked animals more than she liked people. Unfortunately, I don't think this is true because my poor dog has been sick and suffering and she refuses to send over the paperwork to the new vet. I decided to go to a new vet because I took my dog there. She has severe anxiety and we had to wait in the car for over an hour. I was not allowed to go into the building with her. The doctor said she was going to give her some IVs. I called back three hours later and the receptionist said they had gotten busy and she has still not gotten her IV. So my severely anxious dog is alone in a cage sick vomiting without any fluids. I called back and they tried to tell me that she had an IV but they needed to give her more fluids. And they assured me she was doing better. They told me to come and pick her up at 5:30. I arrived at 5:30 at 6:30 I got out of the car because I could feel my dogs anxiety. There was an elderly man standing outside of the clinic with me. Dr. D proceeded to come outside and yell at us for not being in our cars. The only reason she has patience is because she's considerably cheaper than a lot of veterinarians. I suppose she feels this gives her the right to treat people very poorly. I took my dog to a new vet a couple days later the experience was literally night and day. I got to go into the office with my dog. He told me the medication that downhill gave her was for diarrhea and that could be why she was still vomiting the medication up. My dog was so calm leaving the office. Usually when she leaves Dr. D's office she is a nervous wreck. Apparently Fallbrook veterinarian clinic is the only Clinic that refuses to send over paperwork. This clinic doesn't even have an email? How can you have a business in 2023 and not have an email? Apparently she plans to keep people out of her office permanently, taking advantage of the Covid rules. If this woman cannot be trusted to send over paperwork to another vet, when asked, how can she be trusted with your precious dog? I'm trying to find out if she tested my dog for pancreatitis. I have yet to get a response and it's been nearly 2 hours. The first request for paperwork was from my new vet and that was three days ago!!!!!

Dr. Downhill, we have 2 dogs and a cat in for services in her clinic for 20 years. And because of her expertise we stayed. But she has no bedside manner and can be rude. She shut the door on me 2 weeks ago on our last day there as we moved out of the valley. So just know she can be a moody person.

I had to wait outside while my labradoole went in. No big deal, however , several others went in with their pets , and came after me. The talk between the vet and myself, pertaining to my dog was done via phone calls . Nothing really gained about my animal. Cost about ,200.00, couldn't get a receipt either...no recommend..Go some where else,...

We are so grateful to have finally found our vet in the area! They are really caring and were able to offer us so much useful information about how to care for our new adult adoptee. And their prices are totally reasonable. We had so many negative experiences before with vets barely doing anything and charging us an office visit. This place is in business for the right reasons.

Most unscrupulous "doctor" I've ever encountered and extremely rude. Took our chi in when he was a pup cause we didn't know what a reverse sneeze was and she sold us a load of cough & cold meds. Did I mention she has 4 chihuahuas herself?! Unbelievable. Don't get conned by her low prices, you get what you pay for!

Because of their irrational fear of Covid you're not allowed in. They made me wait outside in 100 degree heat in direct sunlight waiting for 20 minutes after they said my cat was ready. Then when I asked a question about the meds, I get an eye roll and talking down to. Anyone still enforcing Covid lockdowns at their business isn't playing with a full deck emotionally and isn't fit enough to treat your pets.

Dr. Jody really is the best. We've been taking all of our pets Lucy, Winnie and Monkey to her for years and she's always taken excellent care of them and can tell she really likes them. If you have to wait for your appointment it is worth it. She is very busy but still manages to get you in. Some things are worth the wait especially when you know that theyre the best at what they do.

When I called in to make an apt for my dog that injured his nail, the Dr had judge-y, snarky remarks and she was really rude. My dad went to take our dog and when my dad opened the door the Dr. screamed at my dad to not walk in and slammed the door in his face like he is nothing. They then sent one of the younger ladies to my dad to his car to fill out forms and try to “nicely” explain why it was okay that the Dr slammed the door in his face and screamed at him, “because they are still in COVID protocol”. Idc what protocol you’re in, that’s not how you treat humans. It’s very easy to explain to wait in the car without being unreasonably rude. The best part was when they called me to tattle tale on my dad for leaving. Simply get a Dr who treats humans with respect. Also last time I brought my cat here the Dr had many snarky comments. I highly do not recommend this place.

I have been a long time customer here. I called about my 13 year old Labrador retriever, who has been barking all night in pain. The vet said she believed he was senile and not in pain and to either “live with the barking or put him down.”How dare they. I would not wish this place upon my worst enemies.

The vet there, doctor Jodi, is an excellent, empathetic and caring veterinarian. I highly recommend her

Very unempathic, kind of rude and rushed Seemed to make it clear that she's very busy and didn't have time to listen to my concerns or answer all my questions. Very cute and dry. Cut me off & talked down to me. Personality leaves a lot to be desired! Lower prices than other vets around but, definitely going back to her again.

We all love our animals and most of us will do anything for them. I believe some vets prey on this and use it to make as much money as they can while using terms like "standard of care" or adding a battery of test to pad the bill. All that said, Dr. Jody Downhill is the BEST vet I have encountered in my over 25 years of pet ownership. She has taken care of both my bridge dogs for over 12 years. About two years ago. My dog developed cancer at age 12. Dr. Jody advised me that she could recommend an oncologist, however she advised against it as with would buy maybe 8-12 more months and cost thousands. Her advice instead was to enjoy him as much as possible before the inevitable. He lived for about 4 month until the tumor became too large. When it came time to let him go, Dr Jody cried as much as we did. It was very clear that she loves the animals under her care

I have been a long time customer. I called about my 13 year old Labrador since he was barking in pain all last night. Over the phone the vet said that she did not believe he was in pain and that he was senile, and either I have to “live with the barking or to put him down.” The absolute lack of professionalism, empathy and unwillingness to find a solution is unforgivable. I would not wish this place upon my worst of enemies.
