Valley Art Workshop

Hours: Valley Art Workshop is a family of artists providing deeply individualized art instruction for all ages, a unique specialty of the San Fernando Valley. Educationally, it offers intensive introductory workshops to techniques and concepts, open-community life drawing workshops, and visiting master classes, plus a long-running college-preparatory foundational arts program for anyone building a portfolio. The studio is a Partner of 11:11 A Creative Collective, joining their mission to bring high-level multidisciplinary arts education and public arts programming to the area. The setting and atmosphere are high-end, but not fussy, conducive to sketching from the live model, painting in the long-pose format, and the art-making process, with a two-week, 6-hour pose known as good and consistent. Miles is a wonderful and patient teacher who pays close attention to each student, is compassionate and flexible with needs, and helps kids and teens grow, encouraging them to pursue art that interests them. Students attend for years, exploring different assignments that expand artistic horizons, making growth, and enjoying the beautiful environment.
