WHWC has an excellent selection of wines, especially if you're into Burgundy. In addition to current-ish releases (within the 2-3 vintages of the current release), they also have some older back catalog stuff, which is always interesting to try if you don't have the patience to buy and store the wines yourself. The wines are laid our reasonably well so it's pretty easy to find what you need, though I will say their largest selection (their French wines) aren't as well organized. The Burgundy section wasn't arranged by region/sub-region nor was it alphabetical. Thankfully, the very helpful staff will help you find what you need. I found it much easier to use their website to find the wines and then to simply ask them to locate them. They also have many wines that aren't on display, so using the website is almost always better. I believe you can even place orders for pickup and they'll be conveniently picked/packed for you when you arrive. WHWC also has a nice parking lot in the back, which makes it very easy to shop in person. I haven't had a chance to order anything shipped yet, but may give it a try in the future!

I like this store for picking up gifts for the wine connoisseurs in my life. The staff is very knowledgeable, they make recommendations that won't break your budget. Also, they are very passionate (we're talking Barry White passionate!) about their products. They also carry hard liquor as well as the wine, so stop in. Also, this is a small business, and for the Devil Dogs who might be reading this, they're pro USMC as evidenced by the flag in front.

I'm so glad to have discovered WHWC. They have a great selection of tough to find Spirits and solid selection of craft beer, they don't just sell wine. I have interacted with both Ryan and Ben, both of whom are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They know their stuff when it comes to spirits. I was on the hunt for a specific type of tequila that I could not find anywhere else without being gouged. I walked in one night and asked for the said tequila and it was dropped in my lap at a fair price. I have since been frequenting them for gifts.

There's a massive selection of wines and it also has a wine I've been looking for for quite some time that I bought when I was in Italy. The wine in question is not very rare but it is a very delicious and relatively hard to find out here.

I ordered a relatively expensive bottle of vintage Bordeaux as pre-arrival, knowing it could take some time to arrive. 5 months later, I decided to check the website out of curiosity, and the wine I ordered was showing as in-stock, but I was never contacted. I sent multiple emails to them over a two week period and nobody has responded. Very poor experience.Edit: After posting this, I finally received a response to my fourth inquiry and it was smooth after that point. Updating my review from 1 to 3 stars.

Noah at Woodland Hills totally saved the day. I needed a special Rose from Southern France for my daughter's wedding. It's where he proposed and it's the wine the celebrated with. They found me 2 cases in time for the wedding and I can't thank Noah and the crew enough. that's how you spell customer service!!!!!

Wonderful service. Superior Knowledge. So many thanks and kudos to Woodland Hills Wine Company and Alfredo. I ordered a special 60 year old port for a birthday gift and the expertise, support and turn-around was beyond amazing. Lots of prompt answers to my questions, personal feedback on the port and I received it in perfect condition with extra packaging due to its fragile nature within a few days. Wonderful and thank you so much!!

With so much commerce taking place predominantly online, it's getting harder to find brick and mortar stores that stock a wide array of anything, outside of bix box stores. While there are reliable online sources for fine wine, including this establishment, the atmosphere of a well-organized store makes me want to take time browsing and talk with the employees. I had ordered a few bottles of lesser known Italian wines before the holidays, and while their shipping rates are reasonable, I felt that visiting the store at least once would be enjoyable and I could pick up the order. In warm weather, this option is probably best because wine is highly susceptible to spoiling in hot and dry conditions. I opted for Will-call. The parking lot in the back is quite large and partially shaded by trees, and there's also an entrance there. Just watch out for delivery trucks. Upon entering, the hallway is lined on the right side with bargain wines, mostly under $20. I have some experience with the selection and can say none are bad choices. It's a matter of taste preference and price. I recommend only buying one of each the first time around. Otherwise, you'll end up with a few years' worth of "everyday wines." Deeper in are well organized displays of Champagne, American wines, then Spanish and German, and the bigger collections of Italian and French types. There are also lots of half-bottle choices, something I like to get, especially when trying something new. The benefits are a tad over half the cost of a full bottle, but likelihood that you will finish it same day or within a reasonable time (roughly 2-3 glasses worth). Large format bottles are preferred by collectors and blue-chip investors, 1.5 litre magnums, or bigger (I've seen some bottles of at least 27 litres!) Anyhow, if you have patience, money, and proper, cool storage, then the big boys are rather fun to hoist but harder to stack. I appreciated the input of store employees, and we shared a bit of news and advice on everything from preferred vintages of Bordeaux and Barolo to where and how wine is stored in select places that specialize in such matters, as well as the best way to obtain WSET credentials. Finally, as impressive as the store selection is, they still have more listed online than the racks can hold in front. All-in-all, a great shop and prices are very competitive with top-tier competition in Socal.

Beyond shock and disappointment! I ordered a $700+ bottle of whiskey and it came in packaging that was unacceptable and also did not have the authenticity certificates or packaging that is industry standard. I have sent them a message and hope they make this right.
