Yolo transfer was amazing for our in-state California move. They're quoted us accurately, gave us free boxes to use, and we're extremely efficient and courteous.

While Yolo Transfer's front office staff were professional, communicative, and genuinely tried to help with our difficult cross-country move from Iowa to California, the overall experience was significantly marred by issues with their subcontractor.
Bekins Van Lines contracted our move to Stevens Moving & Storage, and our driver was JJ. The initial 7-9 day delivery window stretched to 12 days because JJ informed us he had to backtrack to Kentucky to retrieve his truck from a repair shop – a significant and impactful delay.
Upon arrival in California, as our new home wasn't ready, JJ unloaded our belongings into a storage unit, explicitly stating that liability for damages or missing items ended upon delivery there. We had no option but to agree and couldn't conduct a full inventory at that time.
Two months later, the movers JJ hired to unload into storage were the same ones we hired to move into our house. They immediately informed us that JJ's truck had been broken into during transit two months prior, and that JJ's wife had even been re-taping boxes, indicating his clear knowledge of the theft. JJ never mentioned this incident to us at any point – not during the delivery delay, nor upon unloading into storage.
Contacting our storage company confirmed no suspicious activity during the storage period, strongly suggesting the theft occurred while our belongings were solely in JJ's care. While Yolo Transfer's office staff were understanding, they pointed to the signed delivery receipt upon entering storage, acknowledging all items were present. This feels deeply unfair given JJ's deception.
My core frustration is with JJ's blatant dishonesty in concealing the theft. The missing items, approximately $5000 worth of specific collectibles that JJ himself packed and loaded, strongly indicate targeted theft during the cross-country transit where he had sole control.
This situation highlights a critical need for Yolo Transfer to improve its oversight and accountability of subcontractors. A more robust system is needed to support customers facing losses due to a subcontractor's dishonesty, even when a temporary storage arrangement is necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
Ultimately, the professionalism of Yolo Transfer's front office is overshadowed by the significant financial loss and the feeling of being deliberately misled by the driver assigned through their network. This experience was deeply disappointing and eroded our trust.

Awesome company! They moved everything for my husband and I, from the one-story house we were staying at to our third floor apartment (without an elevator)! Very professional packing and moving, protected all our furniture the entire time, and just overall did an excellent job.

We used Yolo Transfer for a local move. We had bids from three companies and Yolo Transfer was the most thoughtful and reasonable. Communication throughout the process was excellent. The team of movers were so respectful of our furnishings, and approached the work with care. I would use Yolo Transfer again, without question.

Yolo Transfer and Moving was on time, less than the quoted price, and did a great job at setting things up how we needed. I hope it's a long time before we move again, but when we do we know who to call.

These guys were awesome. I was really stressed about the move and all my plant babies (some 8-9ft tall) and we had zero casualties!! They even helped me put together a patio day bed that I had delivered to the new place… can’t say enough great things about them!! They also never stopped… 7am- 5pm no breaks and 3 flights of stairs at my new apartment I don’t know how they did it!! 11/10 best moving experience I’ve ever had THANK YOU

Yolo Transfer moved my 90 year old Grandma 10 months ago and she’s still paying the consequences of the move. They damaged 5 furniture. The damage included: breaking the motor of her bed that couldn’t be replaced, shattering of her frost glass shelf, and deep scratches on three dresser. My grandma reported the damaged, it was verified by the company’s assessor. The company failed to fix any of the damages, did not pay her back, and neglected her calls.
Out of my grandma dozen of moves in her lifetimes, Yolo Transfer was the most painful. We do not recommend.

This company made a difficult move so much easier! My 87 yr. old mother in law had to move after 30 years of living in her home. The boxes with the easy number system were so convenient, and the wardrobe boxes made moving clothes out of the closet so easy! Only way I'll do that job in the future. Marisa came and reassured her with a personal touch that it would be a smooth move and it was. Grateful we were referred to them.

I would highly recommend this moving service. Travis Adams is super to work with. He gave me a reasonable quote and bent over backwards to adjust to our ever changing move date. Because we were trying to close on one house and buy another the date kept changing. Each time Travis was patient and said, we'll make it work - and he did! The four man crew, with two 26' trucks showed up on move day at 7am. These guys worked their behinds off for 7 straight hours in insufferable heat without a complaint. They meticulously wrapped stuff I didn't have packaged right. We arrived at our new home with nothing missing and nothing broken. To top it all off, when the last box was moved in and I had to pay the bill, it was several hundred dollars less that what they quoted. Although I never want to move again, YOLO Transfer would be the first place I called if I did.

Do not use them they treat people nasty. They do not care all they care bout is there money. Do not use yolo moving. I watched how they treat people and they do people wrong. They smoke weed in there trucks if you use them i bet you they smell like weed or a fresh new smell trying to cover up the weed smell THEY DO NOT CARE?

I would recommend Yolo Transfer to anyone looking for a quality mover and/or events partner. My clients use Yolo Transfer for storage and shipping needs to and from event locations. Not only are they always on-time and reliable, they handle all items with care and go above and beyond in the organization of all items we store and ship through them. Marrissa and Josh have been in the business a long time and are the dynamic duo behind this business and they make sure we get everything we need prior to an event, including coordinating all event details and pricing. Additionally, all of their staff are lovely to work with and are always very professional.
