STAY CLEAR! They have been robbed 4 times, and senior members of the bank are out on (stress?) leave, and Anthony, who is part time 'running' this bank (into the ground) is pompous and incompetent. They are not only ruining my business, but ruining my reputation in the community. All of this happened in the last 2 weeks: I - I went to the bank to have something important notarized. I have been with this bank for decades and although this is a rare need of mine, it has never been a problem. The notaries are all out on leave, but Anthony is a notary. He advised me to return on the next day as he left his stamp at another bank. 2 - The next day he called and said he wouldn't be at the bank that day. He said he would be there the next day. 3 - I returned on the third day during lunch, but Anthony was only coming in at 4. I was advised to go to the Opus Bank in Fullerton. They called ahead and Maria(?) there said to come over. The assistant manager gave me directions. I drove there as fast as I could. It turns out he had no idea where the bank was and told me the wrong street. I finally found it, and Maria was willing to notarize what I had but said that she was busy for at least 1/2 hour. I didn't have time to wait as I had already killed my lunch break. So that was a total waste. 4 - I left work early and returned to the YL branch before 4:30. I showed the assistant manager what I needed notarized, he showed it to Anthony, and then I sat there, and sat there, and sat there, until Anthony was done chatting, talking on the phone and generally being officious. It was now 2 minutes to 5 PM, and the bank was closing. Anthony called me over to tell me he could not notarize my items (!!!) since they had nothing to do with "bank business." I sat there for nothing - only to hear his canned speech. These were important papers, and another day was shot. THE FINAL BLOW 5 - I had a six figure sum in my checking account and wrote a check for $15,000. Payment was denied by the bank!!!! I have never bounced a check in my life. I was mortified when I received the call from the recipient. 6 - I called the bank and was put through to the same Anthony who in his usual pompous way advised me that it is the bank's policy that large checks couldn't be cleared without contacting the account holder first. This was hardly my first check of this magnitude, this year or even this week. That had never been a rule before. 7 - To make matters worse, he alleged that the bank tried to call me, which is an outright lie. I am in a profession where I have to be available on my phone 24/7 (as a back up, I even have a second phone to call forward to, in case my first phone has issues) - there was no call and no message. Even if they HAD tried once, wouldn't a reputable bank try to call again before denying payment of what looks like a legitimate check? 7 - I asked the name and phone number of his supervisor and all he would do is give me her first name but refused to give a phone number. I'm done with this bank as soon as I can get out of it.
