Very small museum, interesting exhibits about dogs in police/military service and art displays but rather small for the $15 entry

Great exhibits of art, history and the environment. The spotlight gallery downstairs also has very good exhibits.

Friendly member of staff at the reception but definitely not worth the $40 we paid for tickets (2 adults and 2 children). Very small museum, very small collections and only a few historic objects, we managed to see the whole place in about 20 minutes. The gift shop was the only thing that got the kids excited. Probably a good Museum for the local community but we traveled from Europe so we were very underwhelmed by the place. This is the sort of Museum you see for free in Europe so obviously for $40 we expected a bit more.
Good museum for a small local community but if you travel from Europe don’t bother, there are better things to see and do in the area.

Great for local Napa Valley development and history. 60 to 90 mins if you read all exhibits. Rotates exhibits upstairs for non local interest items.

What a humbling experience this was. I read stories about the dogs that gave their lives or were mamed in the war. I had tears in my eyes viewing the statues of the dogs with prosthetic limbs and missing eye. Very touching. They had an event that was dedicated to the TV series Mash. There were people dressed up like the characters in the show.p Great jazz band called Paper Moon were really good. Complementary cocktails and hors d'oervres. Tons of fun!

I always love the setting here. We went for the tiki days. Marketplace was fun. Love the Hawaiian music.

Now I know there was a failed museum in Napa that focused on wine and food called COPIA. However, I wasn't aware that there's been a local art museum next to Chandon in Yountville since 1972 until Jamie read about the special tiki bar exhibition running until the end of this month, "Tiki Dreams: From Far Away Fantasy to Pop Culture Phenomenon". Definitely up our alley.Well, given our recent run on patronizing tiki bars here and abroad, we just had to go. We went up on a recent Saturday, and the museum was crowded with tiki aficionados. It turned out Bank of America was sponsoring an admission-free day, so we took advantage and became engulfed in what felt like a claustrophobic space that was equal parts arts & crafts fair and vintage memorabilia. There was definite entertainment value if you miss this mid-century phenomenon. There were other exhibition rooms, but we weren't made aware of them by the staff. Perusing the website, I noticed some interesting past exhibitions like "The Great California Road Trip 1962", something that appeals to my baby boomer sensibilities. Next to Chandon and close to other attractions, this might be worthy of a return visit.RELATED - Exploring north of San Francisco? Had such a nice time at this museum to see the Tiki exhibit. They did such a great job showing so much art, history, artifacts, mugs, clothes, etc. The museum is clean and bright and not crowded. I would definitely come back for any exhibit that interested me in the future.
