100% this place takes advantage of people. Especially challenged people who do not know what questions to ask. Very bad form Gateway! Shame on you!
My brother took his truck in because it didn't pass smog. $600.00 dollars later and it still doesn't pass smog. The smog guys said the o2 sensor needs to be replaced. Isn't that the first thing you look at if your vehicle doesn't pass smog??
I asked my brother for his itemized list of what was done to his truck, for $600.00 dollars, and this is what he was given.

I went with the cheapest tires shop I could find in Yucaipa, and boy did I regret it.
Only one person in the office spoke English, so he had to translate my requests to the workers. I specifically asked them not to scratch my wheels since I had just had them powder coated. The guy laughed and assured me it wouldn’t happen.
Well, guess what? They scratched every single wheel.
When I pointed it out, he claimed there was nothing he could do—that the machine *had* to scratch the wheels in order to balance the tires. I couldn’t believe it. Then he had the nerve to suggest I just spray paint over the damage instead of offering to fix it.
I also paid for tire pressure sensors to be installed, but the TPMS light stayed on. In the end, I had to spend another \$300 at a different shop to fix the balance on all the tires they messed up and to get the TPMS working properly.
Lesson learned: you get what you pay for. This was the last time I go cheap—and definitely the last time I go to this place.

This shop always works with me and has given me the best price for all my car needs. They never steered me wrong with their stuff.

We blew a tire on an airstream on the highway. I slowly drove called this guy. He offered me a used tire to get us back on the road instead I bought four brand new tires, which he installed all within an hour at extremely reasonable price didn’t take advantage was extremely friendly and his workers clearly work hard. I can’t thank him enough and I recommend this place to absolutely anyone who is considering it.

fast and good prices for an emergency tire replacement after my car blew out on the highway

I went there for a spare tire, I paid $50, I got on the highway and as I hit 53 mph, the whole front end begin to shimmy. I returned to gateway tires, it appears two of the steel radials in the tire were damaged. The serviceman apologized.
Unacceptable service, however, the manager told me to have it replaced at another shop and he would give me a full refund. That was pleasant customer service, but the tire service itself put my life at risk on the highway. Extremely negligent and if that was the cause of an accident God forbid, gateway tires would have had a big fancy lawsuit on their hands.
I would not recommend Gateway tires, STAY AWAY!
FYI I received fantastic service at Gerry's tire service, just a mile and a half up the boulevard and their price was $40 which included balancing the tire. (Something gateway tires never considered doing)
Leaving only one star so I could post this review.
