I can't say enough about this place. Yesterday I walked 1.8 miles to get some dog food for my 2 dogs Vin Diesel German Shepard and Foxy Mae a long hair apple head Chihuahua and the young gentleman and young woman working the desk gave me a lot more than I expected along with a brand new dog travel bag that they filled to the top ? it was heavy but by the grace of God I made it home and my two babies love it they couldn't believe they didn't have to eat PBJ sandwiches anymore thank you so much for all your help and dog food ❤ If I could give this place 10 Stars I definitely would .I'm sorry I can't remember their names but that's what happens when you get old. But once again God bless you both ? ❤

I adopted a kitten here 8 years ago. For adopting kittens, you have to do weekly weight ins until the kitten reaches a certain weight so they can spay/neuter them. Vaccines and fixing is included in the adoption fee if I remember correctly. They really care about the cats there and insuring that they’re not sick, healthy, getting fixed, and up to date on vaccines. I’m not sure if the process is still the same. Her names Kricket and it was Crumb when she was at YAPS. She’s been my best friend for the past 8 years and has been a great addition to the family. She’s doing great and sleeps with me every night/follows me around the house throughout the day.

I was hesitant to leave a review because I did not end up adopting an animal here but I I felt like I should speak up about my experience.I went today after already inquiring online early in the week about a pup named Calvin. Immediately after walking through the door a young man with glasses approached us very aggressively asking “what are you here for”, I told him and he began questioning us about our household and when we told him we had children he asked where the rest of our kids were, and said we should have taken them, which I understand. However if I was choosing to adopt a pet without my children present then it should not be made a big deal nor be made felt like I can’t own a dog because I have kids because “it may bite ”. It is not our first time adopting nor our first pet and the questions he was asking were understandable IF we were already signing papers to adopt and IF he used a different tone. Not only was it his tone as he was he interrogating us and pushing paperwork on us but this was all before we even saw any of the pets available to adopt. There was a young lady next to him who came off with a different approach and was so kind stating that Calvin would love that we were an active family with a big yard looking for a fur baby to go on walks and hikes with. Ultimately the guy in the front made me feel so uncomfortable that we left and did not even get to meet Calvin or any other dogs, we never made it past the lobby because I felt so caught of guard I left in tears and my excitement to adopt there was gone. From here we went to Redlands and left with another pup, but it has me very bothered and sad because we had prepared our home all day yesterday and bought supply’s with every intention to adopt Calvin and drove 20 minutes , just to have the most unprofessional and intimidating person greet us. If they are looking to find forever homes for these pets then they should have customer service and hospitality training, I think you will be a lot more likely to have people adopt if you are more approachable .

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We adopted a kitten from them and they gave us lots of helpful information and a bag of starter kitten food so we could make sure we kept the little guy on the same formula.

I was told the puppy I adopted had a disease called giardia which is transmissible to humans. Long story short come to find out the puppy was only treated for it 2 WEEKS before i adopted him and every single p*** he had was a sign of giardia even though on paper and in writing we were assured it was gone. Now me and my girlfriend are infected because this puppy ate his p*** then kissed us and has that exact same disease just a few weeks after adopting him. We returned that puppy and got a full refund. Unfortunately will not be recommending this shelter to any friends or family.

After losing 2 dogs within 3 weeks we decided to adopt from YAPS. So far, 3 days in, she is a happy healthy puppy. Huge for 9 mos. Just what we needed from our losses.
