This was lunch. They no longer have a buffet. Small, but nice variety, hot food and very tasty and authentic Mexican dishes. Good service and very fair price $$ out of $$$$$.

I came here with my out of town family on the 20th of April 2024 and there was nine of us plus my grandson I myself am from Colorado Springs but we're visiting the sand dunes and every time I am in Alamosa I go to Oscars restaurant cuz it's one of the best places to eat in Alamosa. The staff is beyond friendly the food is beyond good if I could give this 10 stars or more I would. Unfortunately though I don't get to Alamosa that often anymore but I do hope this restaurant is there for everybody to enjoy for a long long time

Wooow, they should have to refund everyone’s money that’s ever ate there. Save your money just go to the grocery store and buy a Mexican frozen

I should've read the reviews before my husband and I tried this Mexican restaurant for lunch on Thursday, Oct 26.SERVICE. Very slow. Our server was too frazzled to serve everyone in the restaurant efficiently. There were two 5-top tables, and three booths with 2 to 3 people each. It took about 10 min after we were seated before the server came to take our order. I asked for water with lemon, but she forgot the lemon. She brought lemons 10 min later when she brought the food to the 5-top next to us. Our food took another 15 min after we ordered. After food was served to everyone in the restaurant, our server came by to check on us...we were 3/4 done with our meal.FOOD. We were provided chips and salsa (enough for 1-1/2 people only) after we were seated. Since food was slow coming, we asked for more and was told it would cost us $1.99 for another round. Huh?! We agreed to the charge because we were starving! I loved the chips though because it was not store-bought. For our meal, I had a combination meal of chicken enchilada, cheese enchilada and crispy relleno with green chile. Taste wise, the food lacked the UMPH to make the food taste really good although the crispy relleno was REALLY CRISPY! My husband had a beef burrito meal. Like mine, he said it was nothing to write home about. Not sure why this restaurant was given the title of best Mexican restaurant in the SLV. No way! We are not returning.

This place is a cool older restaurant, but I love that about Oscar's. Service was a bit slow. I felt like my server had the entire place. I never got one refill on my ice tea. The food was great, and the chips and salsa were as well. Give this place a try it was worth the price I paid.

Grumpy waitress but decent food. Restaurant was a little warm, but not unbearable. Not sure I'd return.
