First time shopping at Echter's today. The staff were lovely, the selection was amazing, and the whole store was absolutely captivating.
However, the markup rate on these products was steep, and product was somewhat overpriced. A lower markup rate might benefit your business model.

This place has a great selection of indoor and outdoor plants and every single staff member I’ve worked with over several visits has been wonderful and helpful. Prices are a little on the high side but they do offer great customer loyalty rewards that make a huge difference in the total cost if you time your purchases right.

Really wanted to like this place, but it’s egregiously overpriced. Called ahead about what vines they had before I visited, and was disappointed when I arrived to find that they were not in stock. I’ll stick to Elliot’s garden. Closer to my house, family owned and you can’t beat their prices. I will say that the staff I spoke to on the phone at Echter’s ahead of time, and asked questions to once I arrived, were very kind. It’s a beautiful location, but cannot justify the price on anything.

Employees are always friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit higher than other places but the variety of plants, gardening tools, yard decor and the knowledge of the employees here is second to none.

Echter’s is a great garden center! The people have been unfailingly kind and helpful, and the plant selection is super. Fair prices and lots of deals for members (membership is free). The greenbucks program offers a nice money-back toward future purchases. I am so glad I found Echter’s after moving g to Lakewood!

If you’re going to treat very loyal customers like shoplifters, you do not deserve loyal customers. And the manager decided to imply I was in the wrong when I called to complain while thanking me for my business as an afterthought, even though I led the call explaining how much I shop at Echter’s. The response when I said I’m questioning whether I’ll come back was ‘ok.’ Absolutely heartbreaking and so disappointing because I used to love this place and have sent you SO much business in referrals. Some lessons in customer service and appreciation are sorely needed. I just don’t understand how local business do any business this way.
Oh incidentally, I bought 15 bags of raised bed soil last month, and when I realized I was only charged for one, I got the manager and paid for the other 14. You’re welcome.

Long time Echter’s customer and simply put they just do it better than most. As the saying goes - if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Plants/shrubs/perennials/annuals/misc landscape items of all kinds that are far superior to that than any big box store. We planted our containers a couple weeks ago and they are thriving (don’t think the pictures do it justice but already the sweet potato vine is sprawling towards the ground and ready to run wild) Truly the only suggestion I have is that sometimes I notice the annuals get flip flopped on the opposite isle of where the signs are, really such a minimal thing though.

Picked up some Sevin lawn and bug hose end spray and Payed $ 35.00.
Stopped by Home Depot and they had the same thing for $ 17.00.
For fun looked at Walmart and they price was $16.47
I don't mind a little higher prices to support local businesses but come on what a rip off.
I will be shopping else where in the future.
