I have an elementary school child who attends Excel Academy, and we have had a phenomenal experience in the two years we have been here. The new focus on explorations has made learning very engaging. Teachers are phenomenal! The PTO sponsors great community events. Love the small school, only 2-3 classes per grade level, so it feels like a community where everyone is seen and known. I would definitely recommend this school.

I am sad to write this review and hope that things will change and I can delete it. I am writing this review for perspective parents and students. I have an 8th grader who has been at the school since kindergarten. I really should have chosen a different school for this year, but I truly thought things would be better.Excel Academy had a change in leadership that led to some fall out of staff. Always to be expected, however, we had a HUGE fall out of staff - at least in the middle school area. Last year we lost 7-8 teachers in just the middles school as well as a fair amount of k-5 teachers and administrative staff. That may not seem like a lot but for such a small school it is significant. In the last week the 7th and 8th graders have lost 3 or their 4 core teachers and the deam of middle school has submitted her resignation. If you are considering coming to this school, I would look at Lincoln Academy and Woodrow Wilson as alternatives.

Some of the teachers managed to bully me and get away with it all. Teachers will always target someone. I was here 9 years and my 4th and 5th grade years were the worst. I couldn't go a day without being picked on by students and my teacher All the good teachers would get fired for the most stupid(and little) reasons (mostly male teachers). Also, since I have left, more good teachers were fired and girls aren't allowed to wear leggings. Now that I am in highschool I can be very confident to say that most of the teachers at this school should not be teachers.

Students learn great quality education. I have a grandchild who has attended/attending and is receiving much better grades than in public school. He wants to to learn and speaks wonderfully of his teachers.

Not a good school I get bullied by the teachers and students then the students and teachers get away with it they blame it on me instead even tho the teachers see what happens Chris in 8th grade is just mean he punches kids and gets away with it DO NOT GO then also the principal is unfair I hope all if the administration get reported or fired

Stay away from this school. The principal is pure evil and shouldn't be allowed around kids or even be allowed to be in charge of a school.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Some teachers are nice and amazing people, who I aspire to be, but some obviously don’t care about you or your well being. I have felt uncomfortable around some teachers, and sometimes even angry. The lunch food is not good, but if you’re put with a nice teacher, such as Ms. Hares in 6th Grade, you can have a completely great year! Overall, if you are a parent sending your kid here, I’d check in with your child, and be honest with them, to see if they’re having any problems with teachers or students. If you’re a student reading this…Good luck

Went here for “middle school” (grades 7/8) 2010-2012. I was bullied horribly at this school, and was told by an English teacher (she’s not there anymore) to “not talk about what I had gone through because other kids may copy me”. My mom made it seem like going here would challenge me, but most of the curriculum was behind the elementary school I had left from, so the classes were even easier than they had been when I was in elementary school. Stuff I had learned in 4th grade, I had to “relearn” (as the class around me learned it the first time) in 7th and 8th grade. You basically can’t fail out of this school, and the grades here are different.I don’t know if my experience is because I came in during grade 7 as opposed to being there K-8, but a boy who came from the same school as me, didn’t have these troubles. Many of the secretaries in the office were super nice, and the librarian was very helpful. My 7/8 history teacher was one of the best teachers I’ve had. But overall... this school experience screwed me up, and I wish I had gone to the much lower rated Arvada middle/K-8.

Excel is a wonderful school with teachers who truly care about their students. Pay not attention to whomever "Devin wanna sprite cranberry satan" is.

My daughter has ADHD, and was struggling badly in public school. Starting in 3rd grade, she began attending Excel, and she is now in 8th grade, and loves the school and the teachers. We have always had support from the staff, and I feel the curriculum will help her be prepared for high school more than if she was at our neighborhood school. She tells me any kid who doesn’t like Excel hasn’t gone to public school! She sees the difference, and life’s it here.

I’ve gone to this school since kindergarten, I’m in the 8th grade and all 4 of my siblings have gone as well. I wouldn’t walk from excel, I’d RUN.If you do choose to send your child here, Once they hit that 6th grade mark I’d pull them out as soon as possible.I like most of my teachers in 7/8th but the administration treats middle school like absolute garbage. We have always been an after thought and almost a punching bag for Mrs. Gjellum. My continuation form this school is exactly 3 months 17 days 1 hour 7 minutes and 45 seconds away and I couldnt be more excited.DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEIR HEALTH AND WELLNESS DO NOT SEND THEM HERE
