We had to reschedule our vet appointment because I was "late" but really I was waiting for the 15 minutes that I was "late" because they didn't have anyone at their front desk. Was there a doorbell on the desk? Yes but it should've been something that stood out like a sore thumb instead of a lame piece of paper on a clipboard on a crowded desk. Annoyed and not coming back.

Bought 2 hamsters from there 2 months ago. We were told if a hamster dies we are required to take its carcass back to store for proper disposal. Yesterday we took back 1 hamster that died for unknown reasons. The girl Bridget made Mr feel stupid for taking it back. We went to pick out another hamster and apparently Bridget called the store manager Mateo. He came and informed me that they cannot do a refund since it was over 30 days (I never asked for refund)I informed him I wasn't asking for a refund im just buying another hamster. But both him and Bridget were being very rude about it and made me feel unwelcomed so I left with my crying son because we weren't able to purchase another hamster. I will never return to that store and I will be contacting corporate for the way we were treated.

Came to this store to try to buy puppy food but they unexpectedly closed over an hour+ early and greeted me at the locked door to inform me because of the extremely cold weather they had closed and could not let me in (company policy) but that I could drive around the metro area to hopefully find an open store with the food in stock. My quick 10 min trip took me 2 hours of driving in horrible weather. I really hated this stores lack of consideration for my position, I won't be back.

It's a smaller Petco but honestly, they are very well stocked. It's also bigger inside than it looks like it will be from outside. That said, they didn't have what I wanted on this particular trip so I ended up ordering on Chewys. The cat toy aisle on this trip had been hit hard and not restocked. However, I'll absolutely go back because they have our regular cat litter and the employees have been nice and friendly on both my trips.

We’ve been bringing our French bulldog to get groomed here for the past year. Nicole is absolutely AMAZING. She is always incredibly sweet and takes amazing care of our pup. She always makes sure he’s clean and gets a thorough brushing. This last time we took him, he was dressed in a Thanksgiving bandana, and was given a little bag of treats and a stuffed turkey toy. We really couldn’t say thank you enough ❤️

WON'T BE GOING BACK.Showed up, as a repeat customer, to get my dog updated for ONE oral vaccine. That's all I scheduled, and nothing else was said from the staff. Came out of the appointment and the total was an additional $75 for an exam! What exam? You looked at my dog's teeth. Their explanation was that "legally" she has to have an exam to be administered a vaccine. Oh, so you have to charge me $75 to be legally compliant? But you don't have to get my consent or even mention the exam?YOU CHARGED $121 TO STICK A SYRINGE IN A DOG'S MOUTH.

Another wasted trip for grooming, vet puts dog on allergy med. Last dose 8pm, spend 30 minutes driving to get told they won't do the grooming because he's had allergy med..Can't wait to use the last free grooming, no one has matched Stephen from the petco in Gillette.

Been coming to this location for years and wanna give Mateo a massive shoutout!! Incredibly attentive, wonderful personality, insanely helpful during checkout. Helped me grab a cart which I felt bad asking for but he did it without hesitation / without me asking. I never write reviews either so super floored with my experience today it made my day

We had a phenomenal visit on 10/13/23 at the location Arvada, CO off of 80th and Wadsworth. My Fiancé and I had just adopted a puppy and Aleish (? I cannot remember their name unfortunately) was FANTASTIC. They introduced us to the puppy/dog trainer and walked us through the entire store and helped us pick out a quality and budget food along with a bed and some great new toys for our new friend. They were so incredibly patient and helped us find a ton of great new items for our pup (not to mention, made our pup fall in love with them with the treats they were carrying). Thank you so much!!

They have no public bathrooms for paying customers. I feel like this is probably breaking some laws. Went in to buy my pet supplies, suddenly had an. IBS attack, politely asked the clerk for the code "oh we don't have public restrooms. So I'm literally running down to King Soopers and by the way didn't make it. So after using kings and cleaning up after myself, I went back to Petsmart & bought my supplies. This will be my last time spending a penny in your store. I'll go across the street to a mom & pop store, sure I'll probably pay more, but they have a restroom if I need. Your company needs to stop lumping everyone as a homeless, drug user, shop lifter.... As I have not would ever be any of those folks. You lost a great customer because your clerk couldn't help a 61 year that desperately needing a restroom. Sad.....

Grooming is WAY overpriced and the general manager threatened to take my dogs to an emergency vet out of spite. Read this before getting your dog groomed here. I'd been going to Nicole for grooming for almost three years. I was moving last week and brought my dogs in because they needed a grooming, but also to get them out of the house while I had movers inside my home. Admittedly, I was late for drop off, and I have my suspicions that lead to Nicole trying to get out of grooming one of my dogs. I got a call about 20 mins after dropping them off from Nicole. She said they had their vet check one of my dogs out and the vet thought he was stoned because his eyes were dilated, that he "may have gotten into something". I assured Nicole that that's just what he looks like . She called my vet to verify and I did not hear back. So I called my vet and they said Petco had in fact called, we had a conversation about what was going on, and I then called Petco back and asked to have Nicole return my call. Instead of Nicole calling me back, the general manager (Matteo I think?) called me. Matteo immediately escalated the situation and demanded I come get my dog. I explained I couldn't, that I was moving, that the dog was fine, that I had spoken with my vet and asked him to call my vet back to explain why his eyes were dilated, all the while Matteo yelled over me. This spiraled into 10 minutes of arguing because he does not have the temperament of a manager and felt the need to talk over me instead of finding a solution for a loyal, repeat customer that had never caused an issue previously. But Matteo is the kind of guy that is way too proud of managing something (anything), the kind of guy who doesn't run anything in his own house so he has to boss around anyone he can in public, you know, the kind of guy that's probably not very blessed in certain areas. He went as far as to threaten to take my dogs to an emergency vet even though I explained I was in the middle of moving so I couldn't come right then and that I had been a client of theirs for YEARS. He didn't give a s***, mostly I think because I hurt his poor wittle feelings by not immediately submitting to his authority . I could continue to rip on baby Matteo, but let's talk about what matters to you. THEY ARE SO OVERPRICED. Now that I've taken my dogs to another groomer I can attest to this. Nicole did a solid job but I just found a local groomer that cost about 50% less. I paid roughly $250 for both dogs at Petco, I was all in with tip for $125 at a local groomer. And she actually did a better job than Nicole, both of my dogs looked noticeably better for half the price -- what a deal . I was even able to get my two dogs booked just a few days after I called the new groomer, Petco was always booked out for weeks. The new groomer I found also doesn't have the same liability issues of a large corporation, meaning no threats to take my dogs to the vet out of spite/pride/generally being a dimwit etc. Do your due diligence and shop around for a local groomer, Petco is NOT WORTH THE COST. I could've saved THOUSANDS of dollars over the years if I had just called around. I also would've saved myself a headache . The cherry on top of all of this is, as I already knew, MY DOG WAS FINE. He was completely normal when I picked him up. My vet even laughed at Petco when I told them what happened, dogs get scared when they go to get groomed, they don't act like their normal selves and their eyes can get dilated when they're nervous. The vet as this Petco shouldn't have a job as they are clearly a moron, and you should be nervous leaving your pet in their care given that you sign a waiver to give them authority over your pet during grooming. On top of that, the GM having such a short fuse, not being customer focused, and looking out for the company and not you or your pet as their clients, should steer you away from giving them your business. Matteo, good luck being stuck as a GM of a Petco in Arvada until you

Called PetCo grooming a few days in advance to get my Pug in. Over the phone, after going through the packages, i chose the basic package at around $25. I got to the appointment and learned that the package does not include brushing my dogs teeth. The groomer said it was $12 to add that service. She then said this package (pointing to a package) cost $33 dollars and included the teeth brushing. So, I agreed to that package, thinking I'd save a few bucks!! I also said I'd like the desheding shampoo for $6. i figured a total cost under $40 for the service. I go pick up my pup, and the total cost was almost $80! The grommer changed me for the original $25 package and the ADD-ON package of $33, not a stand-alone package. So I paid $33 for teeth brushing!! This groomer is highly highly unethical and a flat-out con artist! Wish I would remember her name (petite blond scammer)! Use caution if you use this service at this location. They will rob you!! They sure got me because I love my pup!!!

Out of my cat food. Second time in a month. Talked to cashier about them ordering more. She was kind of flippant. If you are always out of the same food, the purchaser for the store might want to add more. But they had the smaller size. More than $1 more to get the same ounces. Disappointed, probably for the last time.
