It took me 20 minutes reach somebody on the phone to pay my car payment and then gave me another number to call then another number 4 different time they can't even transfer the call. This my first and last time.

I commend branch manager Vanessa, Lakewood. I ran my van over the curb, onto the landscaping and got stuck. Vanessa was professional, courteous and friendly and went through the horror of contacting my insurance. There was no reasonable response from them; the credit union was about to close. Vanessa found a tow company for me and stayed with me until my van was freed to drive. Then she called me when she got home to make sure I was okay. What. A. Gem!

They charge $3 per month for a statement. I called to switch to paperless. I waited for 18 minutes before my call was taken. I was then informed that I had to do this myself through Online Banking or Mobile Banking. I attempted both and both require you to call to have that feature enabled on your account. So… I call back and wait another 22 minutes for my call to be answered. While waiting, I noticed on the envelope of the statement that it says “Enroll in eStatements in Online or Mobile Banking or by CALLING US”. I again asked the banker to switch my account to eStatements. I was once again told they can’t do it. I read their own quote from their own envelope that says otherwise. I was put on hold for another 31 minutes and was then hung up on.

One of the worst institutions I have worked with in my decades of banking and having mortgages. It takes a minimum of 20 minutes for anyone to answer the phone. I had a HELOC and in order to make a payment above the monthly amount due, I had to get "approval" and then they would not let me send my payment electronically. I had to write a check and send it in or pay my bank to "wire" the money. The interest rate went so high above market that I decided to pay this thing off - you'd think that would be simple. No - again, even though my WF checking account was tied to my Sooper HELOC account, I was not allowed to push a button and pay off the loan. Again, I had to either wire the money or send a check in the mail. Get out of the 90's Sooper and start providing customer service! I DID pay this thing off and will never do business with this outfit again.

My review is specifically how they treat people with medium or low credit, or no credit history at all and not about customer service or the online or phone systems. Customer service is always polite and attempts to help and the phone and online systems are easy enough to use.I have been a Sooper customer for 21 years and each time I've come to this bank for financial help with establishing or working on improving credit they've politely denied me help. They claim to be community focused and eager to help people, but they don't actually do that.If you are looking for a credit union to bank at pick a different one because these people won't help you.

I have been a member of Sooper Credit Union for nearly 40 years. Recently, I needed assistance with several financial transactions. That is when Emma Nabokov came to my rescue. She has been exceptionally helpful with guiding me through some of the transactions. Without her assistance, I would not have used the Sooper Credit Union for my financial needs. She represents Sooper Credit with utmost professionalism and this institution is fortunate to have someone like Emma providing outstanding customer service to its members.

What an abysmal business. Took out a HELOC from them years ago. Only to find out they don't even offer an auto pay function on a variable rate HELOC. This leads to you wasting time every single month to login and figure out how much the bill is. No ETA on the function and a poor excuse for a business.Auto-pay has been the bare minimum for two decades. Awful experience for any consumer. STAY FAR AWAY. EVEN A LOWER INTEREST RATE ISN'T WORTH DEALING WITH THEM!

Poorly managed and refuse to move into the 21st century. Cannot use Apple or Google pay. Everything requires me to call the bank to approve. Even the 2factor code is a phone call!!! Just text me the code for goodness sake.

I switch my car over to this place thanks to the help of my lender , Audrey Carlton great customer service and help , also went into location yesterday spoke to a gentleman has excellent customer service skills and help me arrange it for I can have auto pay awesome !!!!!!

I Michael Bully is a member with Sooper Credit Union since last Fall 2022 and when I 1st opened up my account I asked for Courtesy Pay and the staff claimed they were going to mail me a form to sign for Courtesy Pay. I called them several times to inquire and why they haven't sent the form for my Courtesy Pay and every time I speak with them they either Lie and say they sent the form or they will resend the form. I believe this Credit Union is discriminating against me for some apparent reason. I have my payroll checks sent here twice a month and they still won't honor my Courtesy Pay. I do Not recommend Anyone to open an account here.Respectfully Yours;The Bully Family

This credit union cannot be trusted to provide correct information about what you owe or keep any of their accounting straight. Their web portals show different balances and the only way to get the truth is to repeatedly call them. Even then their departments do not talk and your conversation often ends with "Not my job, try department X". DO NOT WORK WITH THEM.

I've been a member of this branch for a number of years. It's close to my home and the staff is great. The ** ***** is a special lady. She works hard and sends me emails or texts to confirm the requests I've made have been taken care of. I currently have 5 accounts here.
