Maroon Bells Basecamp is located at the base of Aspen Highlands and is the starting point for visiting the picturesque peaks. It is a great area and a great place to visit, providing a well-organized process for tickets and transportation. Visitors can park, purchase bus tickets, grab a bite to eat, rent bikes, and shop for one-of-a-kind gifts and souvenirs. The tour bus to the Maroon Bells is very good and informative, with good sightseeing along the way. The bus driver was funny and made the trip more fun. The final destination is very beautiful and very picturesque, with stunning views and beautiful snow-topped mountains. The area has many well-marked, easy-to-access walking trails. It offers a clean environment and good mountain air, with restrooms and handicap accessibility. The staff are very kind, efficient, and helpful, and the whole inside is very clean. Some trails, like the talus field and avalanche fields near Maroon Lake, have trail rubble and could be a problem for some, requiring hiking poles. For longer hikes, carrying sufficient electrolyte water is essential. The experience is overall very good and worth the early drive, creating an unforgettable adventure.
Alot of great store and an easy place to get some lunch. Easy walking. If there is any negative on the property is the parking....especially if driving an SUV or pickup.
