I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience at the Aspen Sherwin-Williams really deserves attention. I came in last week to get help matching a stain and ordering a few gallons of paint for a project in Snowmass. Not only was the customer service underwhelming, it felt like they genuinely didn’t want to be there.
The store wasn’t that busy, maybe one other person, but I still stood at the counter for several minutes before anyone acknowledged me. When I finally asked for help, the employee seemed annoyed I was even asking questions. I tried to get clarity on which product line would work best for high-altitude exterior application, and the answer I got was basically “they’re all fine.” That’s not helpful when you’re paying top dollar for materials.
To make it worse, they messed up the color mix on one of my orders, twice. I had to drive back into town from Old Snowmass to fix their mistake, which burned half my day and threw off my contractor’s timeline. No apology, no offer to make it right, just blank stares.
I’ve used Sherwin-Williams all over the country and this location is by far the least professional I’ve encountered. For a town like Aspen where service should matter, this felt more like a tired highway paint depot than a premium brand experience. I’ll be taking my business for our home developments elsewhere

Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I will continue to use this store for my painting and remodel needs. I would recommend this store to any that are also in need of help and selection of products, colours and techniques for painting and refinishing.
