My wife and I stayed here while in Aspen in July 2025 and we were quite pleased with all aspects of our stay. The hotel staff were attentive and helpful with every request we had, providing top-tier service expected of a five-star hotel.
Our room was spacious, spotless, and elegantly appointed, with thoughtful touches that made our stay feel comfortable and luxurious. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, housekeeping was prompt and thorough. All aspects of comfort were provided to us without us having to ask for them. The one minor concern I had was that the air conditioning seemingly wouldn't go below 70 degrees, but the engineering team came and got our room nice and cool for the warm summer evenings, even taking the time to take temperature readings around the room.
We also appreciated the hotel’s amenities, including a lovely pool and spa with a sauna and inviting lounge areas. I should mention for fellow travelers that a notable portion of the clientele had, just in my opinion, a somewhat ostentatious vibe that may not appeal to everyone, but that’s more a reflection of Aspen itself than the hotel.
Overall, our experience was seamless from check-in to check-out. This property delivered everything we hoped for in a high-end Aspen stay, and we would gladly return.

We highly recommend the Off Road Adventure with Steve! We saw some of the best views in the world and learned so much about the local environment and the town’s history. Don’t miss it!

The attention to detail and service is amazing.
Highly recommend.
I unfortunately didn’t take pictures of the room. Just my coffee on the balcony. 😆

We stayed at The Little Nell for a few nights at the end of ski season. As first-time visitors to Aspen, we chose the hotel for its ski-in-ski-out access and five-star reputation. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations.
On the day we checked in, my husband and I (both Asian) stopped by Element 47, the hotel’s lobby restaurant/bar, for light drinks and snacks. When we approached the host stand, the middle aged male host with facial hair told us he was prioritizing “house guests.” Confused, I asked if he meant hotel guests. He confirmed, and I clarified that we were indeed staying at The Little Nell. The fact that he assumed otherwise without asking made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. Given the hotel’s predominantly white clientele, it felt like an assumption rooted in how we looked. No guest should ever be made to feel out of place based on their appearance.
Beyond that unfortunate encounter, the overall service lacked the warmth and attentiveness one would expect at this price point. Front desk staff were polite but cold. On the third day of our stay, the hotel conducted loud rooftop maintenance to remove ice, but failed to notify guests. My husband had injured himself snowboarding and needed to rest that afternoon, but the noise was unbearable. There was no advance warning - no written note, no verbal mention, nothing. Had we known, I would have found him a quieter place to recover. But still, at over $1,000 a night, you’d expect to comfortably enjoy your room at any hour.
When we shared our feedback on the issues above with the manager on duty the day we checked out, his response was, “How do you want to be compensated?” That lack of accountability was disappointing and not at all in line with what we expected from a luxury resort.
I also would advise skipping the spa at the Little Nell. I received a less than mediocre massage from Chanta, who seemed distracted during the service - often pausing for seconds at a time for no apparent reason. FYI - a 20% gratuity is automatically included with all services.
Overall, The Little Nell felt overrated and underwhelming. Staff training, especially around cultural awareness and guest care, needs serious improvement. Next time we visit Aspen, we’ll be staying at Hotel Jerome instead.

The Little Nell staff was so carefully trained and paid such close attention to hospitality. As a hotel owner, I understand the challenges it takes to run a boutique hotel and they've done a phenomenal job. In an age where true hostility is fading The Little Nell is a true gem.

The Little Nell is truly a world-class experience from start to finish. The hotel team was exceptional—attentive, gracious, and incredibly professional. Every detail was handled with care, making our stay seamless and luxurious - ever for our yellow lab Hank! I loved how the valet would hold the car door open for him when he would get in the car - Hank felt like a VIP too!
Element 47 was a standout. From the creative, perfectly executed menu to the thoughtful service, dining there was a highlight. I also hosted a private dinner for a group of VIP clients, and the experience was nothing short of perfection. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every element was flawless—our guests couldn’t stop raving about the ambiance, the cuisine, and the overall execution.
If you’re looking for elegance, impeccable service, and an unforgettable Aspen experience, The Little Nell delivers on all fronts. I can't wait to return!
