I rarely write reviews, but was compelled to here. I am a collector of rare vintage posters for the past 30 years and consider myself knowledgeable. The collection at Omnibus is wide and deep, but the prices asked are astronomical, and bear no relation to fair market value. Having an Aspen storefront should not make it acceptable to quote $30k for a poster that (in identical condition) recently sold for $7k at a RETAIL auction in NYC. Over several visits I asked for the prices on about 6-7 posters that I already own (and have strong working knowledge for values/scarcity levels , recent prices paid, etc etc) and his asking prices routinely exceeded 300% of the going rate (e.g. $40k-$50k ask against a known actual value of $10k-$15k) Vintage Posters are rarely “one off” — they were usually produced in multiple runs, there are transactions that are easily referenced, and thus the values are knowable. To me, it is very bad form to attempt to massively overprice (a.k.a. “Rip off”) your product, to an unsuspecting/unknowledgeable consumer, even if they are wealthy and in Aspen. Just my two cents for what it’s worth.

The selection is unprecedented. I have never seen as many treasures under one roof and I have traveled the world. The owner is a curmudgeon but I'd rather confront grumpy than smarmy, and he does know what he's talking about. As far as pricing, this is art, not a commodity and there are many factors at play, so it is hard to judge. Bottom line, if you want a poster that is both "important" and something you can enjoy living with for your lifetime, then you must visit this gallery before it closes (which brings up a question...will the collection stay together and be sold online or will the gallery change hands?)

I went to the gallery today and picked up some vintage racing posters for myself and as gifts. Unlike the other reviewers i expected i was probably paying a premium for them due to the gallery being in aspen but he also has a great selection. I don't plan to resell them and i didnt buy them as an investment so i was okay with the pricing. I was able to get some unique gifts without having to spend hours trying to find these all over the internet. The gentleman that owned it treated me fine and went thru 100's of posters with me for about 30 min.

Only art gallery in Aspen I'd buy from! The man is there every time with a wealth of knowledge on an incredible selection of original and reproduced lithographs. I definitely can't afford the poster that catches my eye every time I go visit, but nevertheless the owner always has time to answer any questions about the origins of the piece! PS he has a fabulous website

I’ve visited this gallery numerous times over the years. If the owner could pry himself away from his desk and computer, he’d might sale more posters! Not a hello or welcome ever. He’s been extremely rude when I’ve inquired about different posters with his know it all attitude. Over priced even for Aspen, the market has been flat for years. He’ll need to mark it all down at least 50% to get rid of it all during his GOB sale.

It pained me to even click on one star. Appalling business. The owner used extremely derogatory language. I can't even repeat the terms he used. This place is going out of business for a good reason.

Avoid. Let's just start by saying that the minute we walked in, it was extremely apparent that no one that worked here was happy or interested in selling anything. The owner (grey hair guy) was totally rude and obviously a bitter, bitter old man. I noticed a review from several years ago that said there was a sign posted out front that the gallery was going out of business. It's 4 years after that review, and I saw the same sign up on our recent December 2019 visit. Umm, yeah. Totally dishonest and sketchy. They've been going out of business for four years? Plus, I seriously question the authenticity of the majority of what I saw there. We walked in and wanted to find a vintage Aspen poster for our home. We were not interested in a cheap reproduction. We were there to buy and after 2 minutes inside the shop, I couldn't bring myself to even purchase the one I saw that I really did want. After being sized up by the old guy (owner?), he proceeded to yell at my son (a polite 16 year old) and he never even said hello or "welcome, are you looking for anything in particular?" to my wife and I. Seriously, that's simple customer service and common courtesy. Needless to say, we left. I would never recommend this place. Rude and sketchy people don't deserve ANY ONE's business. And there are literally thousands of posters just laying on the floor. Go somewhere else, where the business owner greets you and appreciates your business. Wish I could give zero stars!!

I went in tonight and asked a few specific questions about posters of a specific genre and he pretty much said, “you can’t afford them” and wouldn’t even show me his collection of that genre.

After a very brief visit to this gallery this evening, I looked its reviews up on Yelp and Google out of sheer curiosity.

The greatest collection of automotive lithographs I have ever seen and am likely to ever see in my life.
