This was our third time renting with Escape, our Mesa van “Into the Wild” (who we nicknamed Supertramp, iykyk) was perfect, no issues at all. Upon returning we learned that the company was liquidating and we were one of the last renters, I am incredibly sad to hear this as we have really enjoyed our experiences over the years. Thank you all for your hardwork and dedication, and for allowing people to travel and see this country, safely and comfortably.

We booked a Maverick for 2 weeks at Denver shop. We arrived 12am instead of 1pm but the employee was nice and accepted to proceed to check-in. Hé was friendly and gave us some little gifts. The van was well decorated in green, all equipment was running good. You can see the van is quite old but runs perfectly. We drove 2300 miles (Yellowstone, SLC, Arches NP and back to Denver). The van made it perfectly even on high altitude and mountains.
We slept 12 nights inside, at campings and at rest areas. With m'y friend, we are quite small dudes but the bed was enough large to avoid any touch 😁
Bed and table set-up were quick and easy. The van is quite small but this is what we pay for.
Kitchen was perfect for our use, with a froide, light and propane stove. One bottle of propane was enough for the trip.
Overall we had great holidays with escape vans !

Disappointing
I traveled with Maverick three years ago and would probably have given them 4 or 5 stars at the time.
We just tried the adventure again, and this time it was so disappointing that I would have given it 1 star, so I'm averaging my two trips.
A Maverick that was out of commission for this road trip in August 25 with 608,000 km on the odometer. The vehicle is not maintained:
- Passenger airbag torn (would it have worked?)
- The stove screw was so worn that it was impossible to attach a bottle without risking safety
- Four-level bed, as the sofa has become so worn over time, for uncomfortable nights I recommend
- Driver's window does not close completely without forcing it manually
- Rusty or broken parts throughout the van.
- Ventilation only blowing cold air in the back.
Escape Campervan made a gesture, but it was insignificant given the wreck we had and the price we paid for it.
We will definitely use another rental company for our next trip.

We just drove from Colorado to Oregon, it was the best! As with any trip we had some ups and downs.
My favorite things about this van/company:
-the ability to do one-way rentals (we went Denver to Portland)
-the fridge worked perfectly
-being able to sort through things people left behind when you pick up your van. We got coffee filters, storage bins, all kinds of useful stuff.
-the customer service online and in Portland was excellent.
-the kitchen kit, table and chairs rentals worked out great
Least favorite things:
-the van wasn’t the newest, for example we expected to have Bluetooth and we didn’t.
-the bedding kit wasn’t comfy, we went to Walmart for extra pillows.
-the sink - the hand pump is inconvenient. Using one hand to pump means you only have one hand to wash stuff. And water would either dribble or come out in bursts.
-lack of overnight ventilation: there’s no ceiling vent or screen windows. We got the bug socks, which were probably better than nothing but aren’t helpful when it’s raining. I definitely recommend getting a cheap rechargeable fan, it saved us during a couple of hot nights.
Overall van experience: if you’re used to tent camping this will be lux. You don’t have to set up/breakdown your tent or worry about getting rained on overnight. And you’re protected from bears/men.
If you’ve camped in a rig larger than this, it’ll feel like you’re roughing it. Mainly due to the fact that you can’t stand up inside and the kitchen is out the back. Things like changing clothes and cooking in bad weather are challenges.
Ultimately the one-way rental and customer service made it worthwhile for us and we had a really amazing trip.

Cool vans, but totally dirty store and front desk staff could be much more friendly and interested. Take a class in the Portland station - awesome service!!!

We had a very old Maverick van (300,000 miles!) and we didn’t know it was the oldest type. No radio, pop-up tent broke, but we made the best of it. The regional manager in Denver reimbursed us for some of our troubles.

We (4) enjoyed our Ford Maverick campervan a lot - fully equipped, we did not miss anything. It took us to the most iconic national parks and we slept wonderfully.

Drove a Maverick Van from Seattle to Denver over 16 days. Incredible experience! As kiwis we are used to van life and the Escape Maverick had everything we needed for the two of us. The van was well used and only got up to 65mph but that made the roadie even better as it kept us in slow mode so we could see all the sites. Pick up and drop off was so easy and customer service on both ends was amazing.
Thanks Escape! We will be back soon to explore more of the USA.

Me and my family have been using the Delmar campervan for 3 years now, the first trip we took was to Arizona, the second trip we took was to Seattle, and our trip we took this year was to Colorado which was amazing and we got to hike in the Rocky Mountains. We love how there is a pop top so everyone can fit and have a great night's sleep the pillows and blankets are so cozy🙂. We highly recommend this brand for long road trips, or just camping. it is safe and fun. we like the curtains so we can have a good night sleep and it blocks sun light. Highley recommend this brand!! - Hartley age 9.
