Very nice library with many desks useful for a traveler or student. Helpful staff and it is great to have a coffee shop on site.

I used to love this library, and then I worked there.-The administration of the district was very inclined to cave to homophobia.-One high level manager (at the time - 2018) boasted about providing library services to Aurora serial killer James Holmes in the past - in an attempt to show how much she cared about freedom.-The HR Department refused to honor an accessibility accomodation that they earlier said they would honor. They like to talk a lot about accessibility, but that is all talk.-They wasted a lot of money making the cafe worse, and making its employees much more unhappy. They have a high turnover rate for a reason. One employee stated that many baristas would leave for Starbucks. If underpaid corporate food service comes out looking better than your government job with benefits, you've got a problem.-They make many employees stand - in positions that almost entirely don't require standing.-They often illegally discouraged me from taking my legally allowed lunch breaks.-The night staff would rush us cafe workers if we were taking any amount of time to finish up our closing list, even during training.-That same night stuff was forced to use weasel words when announcing library closure over the intercom - making the announcements harder to understand for ESL patrons.-The district has a ton of tax money, and they are not subject to the same oversight that districts like Aurora and Denver are. With this, and their overflowing budget, they still used non-paid volunteers to maintain the used book sales. The district can afford to pay them.-They discriminate against smokers (who are addicts - most of whom made the choice to start when they were too young too weigh the consequences). I am grateful to no longer be a smoker, but I was not so fortunate back then. They made me feel very bad about it, like I had to hide it.--There was an unwritten rule, that we were not allowed to smoke on breaks. There was an employee smoking section on the north side that was never used, and I found evidence that "Are you a smoker?" had been part of an employee questionaire at one point. This job killed my desire to work in libraries. That was going to be my career path postgrad. Now I have nothing.I used this library to finish my Bachelor's Degree. Now I rarely like to spend much time there. Now that I know how the management is, and how employees are treated...

Didn't stay too long, ride came early. But it seems like a great place. Bright and clean, lots going on, lots of people to help and great coffee and pastries.

I am shocked I've not written a review for this library before!I was so thrilled when we bought our home in 2012 to find we were so close to a community library. (Of course, almost any library IS godsend.) But this site truly basically helped my newly-retired military SAH husband with its full-on kiddo program. On weekends, I have loved just taking them in to the kids section to hang out and enjoy everything this community has to offer. And here comes the pandemic, and this team just HAD to kick it up a notch with remote presentations (great for the most schedule-challenged parents!)Now, they are tweens. And I feel so confident letting them explore the library by themselves, because this is an extension of their 'village'. They have learned such respect to these community saviors and such an appreciation for "library".Deservedly so. X 10.We are now moving but Smoky Hill has set the bar.

This library is awesome! They really have everything a reader would want. There is even a cafe inside where you can pick up some coffee and a snack while you read. I love that this cafe does seasonal drinks too to mix it up.One of my favorite features is on the second floor they have a balcony with rocking chairs that has a view of the mountains in the distance. There is a great kids section with tons of books and tons for them to play. We came once on Thursday morning for story time too.For those working remote they have a phone booth for making private calls on the second floor near elevators. They've even got self-checkout and electric car chargers!

This is my favorite library to go to because of this cafe! They create a custom themed latte every month or so and they’re almost always a hit in my book! They also have a punch card so if you go frequently you can get rewards! The prices are very on par with other coffee shops in the area!!

Love everything about this library! I've lived around the corner for almost 4 years, and my husband and I found this gem during voting times not long ago. We have 2 grade school kids, and this place is full of activities for our homeschool life. And the employees are also very kind and more helpful, in my opinion, than any other library we've been to.

Great place, full of books and good people. The architecture rises up to meet the nature around it and you'll find a peaceful place to enjoy some coffee and a nice read. They don't take tips so donate extra for the children!
