Jay and the team at Summit Auto are the best. He rebuilt my 2005 Subaru outback engine in 2016 and it's still humming along wonderfully. Professional, courteous and above all else, they are extremely competent. Highly recommend!

I would not trust Mike or his team. I called his shop to see what the cost was to replace a head gasket and the original quote I was given was 2k. I brought my car in the next week and was then told it would be $2500. Eventually I ended up paying almost $3000 and was not told that the price was higher than $2500 until I got to his shop to pick up my car. He also told me that it would be done in 1 week, but it actually took two. After getting my car back, they broke the hydraulics to raise the hood (worked fine before I brought it in). I called and they told me that the hydraulics just go out and it was not their fault.

As a woman, I have found it difficult to find a mechanic I can trust. Mike and Jay are honest and do not try to get me to repair items that are not necessary. They do excellent work in a timely fashion and are nice people! A few years ago I had to have my Subaru towed to Summit Auto and the vehicle was over an hour's drive to the shop. The tow truck driver informed me that there are a lot of mechanics who are closer. My response - not that I trust. I wouldn't take my Subaru anywhere else.

I’m hesitant to review as they are a secret gem and I don’t want them to get to busy so I can’t get my car in for service. Mike and Jay are the best. They run a quality honest shop. They stand behind their repairs. They know Subaru’s inside and out. Can not say enough good about them.

I got stuck with a 07 Outback that blew an engine right around 100k miles thanks to a family member never checking the oil while in his possession. So on recommendation of another mechanic I decided to have Sunmit put a new engine in it rather than scrap it with those kind of miles. They put a newer 2012 engine in it and that made a lot of sense as the newer engines do not have all the head gasket issues the mid-2000’s were plagued with. The job was done well and pretty quickly. Value was good considering. I did have some residual oil leaking but they worked with me and got that figured out and, these issues were likely not all related to the engine install itself. Overall good experience with this shop considering my situation with this car.

Highly recommend! Brought my Subaru in for a new engine and was extremely satisfied with how everything went. Mike really educated me on the whole process and he was super knowledgeable and made me feel like my car was in great hands. These guys really know their stuff and I’m happy to have been recommended to their shop!

I had them do the head gaskets on my Subaru- almost immediately after my car was leaking oil. I took it back and they had done something incorrectly and fixed the issue. Now two years later the head gaskets are going out in my car due to the work previously done. Do not recommend.
