Tortilleria La Amapola is considered the best tortilla shop in Aurora, offering the best handmade tortillas in town. The corn and flour tortillas are always fresh, very delicious, and never dry, holding up well in all dishes. The store is a small storefront with snacks and canned goods, but in the back, it operates as a tortilla factory. Customers can sometimes see the tortillas being made fresh from the back. The customer service is very good, with staff being helpful. Prices are reasonable, making it a highly recommended place. Some note the line can be long, but there is no reason to buy tortillas from other grocery stores anymore.
I go there for tortillas, but they always have a nice selection of produce and all sorts of other desserts, and toppings for kitchen creations. Today they had tortilla dough ready to make your own tortillas at home in bags!

I have a question. Does anyone know if the flour tortillas and gorditas are made with lard vs. vegetable shortening?
