Greg Hayes used to be the attending veterinarian for the tigers forced to appear in American furniture warehouse advertisements in the early 2000’s. Investigations determined that all tigers were severely malnourished and abused and lots of the tigers (or the ones that were not euthanized) are now at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Eastern colorado. My question to “doctor” Greg is why didn’t he report the abuse? Or did he fall spell to the whole exotic animal storm so many others like tiger king and carol baskin did..?!?Don’t support this guy. He is a joke.

Dr Hayes has been great at making sure my two conures are always happy and healthy. He has been great at answering all my questions. They also carry Harrisons pellets which makes my life 10x easier versus having it shipped.

I have never, ever experienced a business like this. This place is a HUUUGGGE ripoff. You'll go in expecting an office visit fee of $75, and ALWAYS leave with a bill that is 4x to 6x that amount. Very often, your bill will exceed $1,000 or more. And this will happen every single time you bring your pet in. They are worse than used car salesmen, playing off pet owners' fears. I have so many examples of their upsells of meds, shots, tests, diagnostics that you're pet should "really have because youre [breed/pet] is uniquely vulnerable."They reflect well on the disgusting mess that is our health care industrial complex..And it's not as if they have overhead to cover, the place is a dump that has not been renovated since it was built in the 50s?Guard your wallet well with these sheisters... You have been warned ⚠️

Been coming here for 11 years with my dog and found out the hard way that they don't examine test results, they look at them. Incompetent practice.

My first experiences with the Western branch on 55th were GREAT. They were very kind to us in an injury situation with our kitty, and we were so fortunate they could see us on a Saturday, when such emergencies always seem to happen. I always recommend them based on that experience. However, I just took kitty in for a simple checkup and booster shots to their DOWNTOWN branch. Whoa. The experience could not be more different. The doctor would not let me finish a sentence. He interrupted me five words into an explanation of the problem with a snap judgements, and when I said no, it was like this.... he would interrupt again. I did not feel like he heard my situation since he never heard a full sentence. I felt like I was bothering him, and went away feeling dismissed. He gave the cat her shots, we were out in less than ten minutes. He didn't do any other checkup metrics at all. Two shots and ten minutes of being cut off while speaking, no questions answered = $130. Feeling bit raw.I will not be going downtown again. I'm hoping this issue is limited to the downtown branch and that practitioner/owner, because otherwise and up to this point they have been pretty awesome, hence the average rating of 3

It was 21 years ago that I lived in Boulder county and took all my pets to Arapahoe Animal Hospital. I loved them then as much as I love them now!!! Dr. Hayes was always so attentive, easy to talk with, and as always, he was wonderful with my pets from vaccinations to surgeries, and everything you would need from a veterinarian. With a job relocation and moving out of state to care for my elderly parents, I had to go to other veterinarian clinics over the past 10 years. None compared to Arapahoe and Dr. Hayes! I've since moved back to Colorado...although not in Boulder, so there's some driving distance, but I knew how much I missed Arapahoe Animal Hospital. I'm so glad to be back with them!!! Again, there are no other vets and animal hospitals that compare in my opinion! Thank you, Dr. Hayes for your patience with me yesterday as I was on edge being a new pet parent again. You were calm rather than getting annoyed or irritated with me over the phone as I know other vets would (and have) done with me. Likewise, I know my husband can barely tolerate me at times, lol. So thank you for understanding me and the deep and often overly protective bond I have with my dog. I am undoubtedly one of those helicopter pet parents who can be rather annoying, but Dr. Hayes went over and above to take good care of my dog just as he did all my pets years before. He made me feel at ease and took such good care of my dog. You are THE BEST and I'm so glad to be back with you and Arapahoe Animal Hospital...well worth the extra drive to get to you, and truly worth getting to chat with you again!! You're one of a kind and it made me realize just how much I missed you as our veterinarian, and my husband agrees....you know animals, you are experienced, and above all, you're down to earth and entertaining! Most of all, you are appreciated!! Attached is a photograph of Dr. Hayes with my four kitties, taken 21 years ago. We love him and everyone at Arapahoe Animal Hospital!

Dr. Meyers is by far the best small animal vet around. Not only is he wonderful with the animals, but he is great with the people who bring in their pets. He never talks down to you and treats you with respect and tremendous compassion. Dr.Meyers explains everything and answers any and all questions. He is the best!

My dog has been going to Arapahoe Animal Hospital ever since we moved to Boulder two years ago. Dr. Meyers and their staff are very understanding of my dog’s fear/aggression issues and will do anything to help make her more comfortable there.I let them know that she feels threatened and anxious when people come into a room to see her. Instead now, the vet enters the room and then the staff calls us back to walk in last. It’s the small things that matter when it comes to your local vet.

We brought our dog here a couple of months ago because his right eye kept swelling up every couple of weeks. We thought it was maybe allergies or a bug bite so we wanted to go to the vet to confirm. We went and the vet said it was allergies and gave us drops. The drops didn't work and it kept swelling. The same eye every two weeks. So we brought him back in and expressed to the vet we did not think it was allergies since it keeps happening and it is in the same eye and the drops do not work. He brushed it off and said that we must have a plant in the house that is bothering him. So we went to a different vet, he immediately ran some tests and it came back a tumor. We just got the prognosis back that at the stage of his cancer he has about 1 year to live. I would not suggest going to this vet, even after voicing our concerns he continued to brush us off and did not perform and other tests.

Short and sweet: don't waste your time. Find a more organized, caring veterinary clinic. Now, I haven't been to a lot of vets in my life, but I feel as though I know a bad situation when I see one. We took our kitten in, and had to wait a while because they were busy and we are in a pandemic - no problem, I get it. They took her in, and I think I counted 4 total minutes that the vet actually looked at her. "Okay, a fast appointment" I thought. They did her first shot, we paid for a worm test, and went on our way.We dropped the worm test off a week or two later, and when I did I was told that I would hear from them in a few days about the results. A week and a half to two weeks passed, and I heard nothing. Upon a follow-up call from me, I was snottily told I would be contacted in a day or two. Nothing. I called again, and was told I would be contacted by the vet the same day, and if not then the next day guaranteed (at least she was nice). N o t h i n g. It took a 3rd call, almost a month after I dropped the test off, before I finally heard anything from them. Absolutely unacceptable. I have never felt so disrespected and invisible to a place I am spending hundreds of dollars. I can't actually speak for their veterinary work, but it is clear to me that their communication and organization are poor and it seems to me that I was not a valued client to them.

Can’t say enough amazing things about this place. They really go above and beyond to be friendly, helpful, and respectful. My dog is extremely shy and needs extra TLC and the staff is always so kind and gentle to him.
