The staff is great. The assistant manager and manager lack customer service. Been a long time BD customer it’s unfortunate I won’t be shopping at the store again.

Jesse, Boulder store manager, helped me obtain the new 1500 headlamp. I love the quality headlamp and I especially love Jesse. Great customer service.

The quality of the gear here is excellent. Bought a raincoat and the staff was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. Colin in particular made the whole experience great. Up near vail a couple days after purchase, and have already received a complement on the jacket I bought. Go here for a peaceful, solid experience. Great gear. Kind folks.

I rarely buy myself new clothes but Colin was incredibly friendly & helpful which made me feel super welcome. I’m insanely happy with my purchase of pants, shorts, & a new sun shirt. I’ve loved all of my BD products from jackets to climbing gear but always scored my BD apparels off of buddies second hand. This is my new spot for gear & I’m super grateful for the experience. Thank you BD & Colin!

They honored my coupon, gave me great advice on purchases, and had a great selection of gear. I got a helmet and some other stuff.

I went to a bunch of outdoor stores looking for alpine pants for a birthday present all along the street. I finally get to BD and I was welcomed by Colin who was super welcoming and helpful. Out of all the stores and staff I talked to- he helped make the experience better and answer my questions about Alpine pants and helped me feel confident in my purchase. He even took the time to answer questions I had about things non-related to BD. Every time I go into BD, they have really welcoming , easy to talk to staff. Thanks again Colin !

Went down to Pearl Street yesterday, planning to buy some new climbing pants from one of the many stores that sell technical gear there. Of all the stores I went inside and various sellers I talked to, the staff at BD Boulder was undoubtedly the friendliest and most knowledgeable. The manager, I believe his name was Jesse, welcomed us into the store and was happy to answer all of my questions about the different pieces that BD offers. He did a great job of matching me with gear that would fit my needs as well as my price range. He wasn’t just trying to push the most expensive items like many of the other retailers were. Six stars

Good inventory, staff was comically dismissive and condescending when we brought in a pair of $160 gloves whose seems had torn apart and developed a hole in the goat skin after buying them 10 moths ago and 20ish days of use. The Black Diamond warrantee process is to fill out a form on line and wait for at least 3 months for a reply because this is “their busy season…”. You can do this online at home, the store will add no value. If you want Black Diamond gear, get it at REI or Moosejaw as they have reasonable warranty processes or buy Patagonia or Arcteryx apparel, 0 questions asked on repair or replacement, they stand behind their products and don’t want to dump poor quality products into a landfill. I won’t shop here again. There are other reviews with the same feedback. I have closets and bins full of Black Diamond gear, something has changed.

While I am disappointed that some of Black Diamond's production has been moved to China. This store is great. BD is the gold standard for Cams and Ice screws. The customer service in this store is amazing. The gang is always full of stoke and ready to help. Danny is experienced and fun to talk with. BD needs a loyalty program.

Love the staff here and their location is just perfectly placed on pearl st. When I went in to their location to try and buy some climbing rope, all of the people were extremely helpful and their deals were just as good as online. They were so knowledgeable on all of their products and you could really see just how much these employees cared about their job and believed in their mission.

Staff where great and the sales where awesome! It's a must stop for climbers and hikers when on pearl St. The service was amazing and so was the knowledge base. Had a return (was one the most painless things ever), they easily converted me back into sale. I am so happy they did!

I stopped in quickly to buy a backpack right before I needed to catch a nearby bus out of town. However, I forgot my favorite water bottle in the store. While at the bus stop, I called to see if I could pay to get it shipped, and an employee RAN about a half mile and got it to me less than a minute before the bus arrived. Awesome! I'd give a shoutout if I caught the name. Backpack is good too.

Popped into this store a few weeks ago during a weekend in Boulder and bought a pair of the Midweight Gridtech liner gloves to wear on an upcoming backpacking trip. I wore them for 4 days inside a pair of mittens while backpacking and found the quality to be pretty terrible. The gloves pilled and developed holes in the fingers after just a few days of use. They also didn’t offer much wind resistance when compared to the OR liner gloves my partner wore on the same trip. I was back in Boulder two weeks after purchasing them, and I still had my receipt and the tags, so I tried to return them. The staff informed me they couldn’t return anything that has been worn, and handed me an iPad to fill out a warranty form. Not really the best experience with an outdoor gear brand whose equipment I’ve entrusted with my safety and life during many years of climbing. I don’t mind paying a premium for a good product, but I don’t understand the no return policy. After I filled out the warranty form, the staff said I may or may not be sent a new pair of gloves. These gloves were terrible, so I’d really just like my money back. I learned my lesson and will continue to by gear from REI.
