I came to the massage clinic at Boulder Massage Therapy Institute. I was very impressed with the staff and students. They male student that worked on me was great! He checked in with me several times to make sure the pressure was what I wanted, and that I felt comfortable. I definitely plan on going back in the future, and recommend to anyone needing affordable bodywork. Also, it gave me the impression it would be an excellent place to learn if anyone is looking for a massage school. The staff was very attentive, hands-on, and informative.

My wife attended the Boulder Massage Therapy Institute and had a life changing experience! In a few short months she learned all the skills she needed to start her own wellness practice—from the various massage techniques to the underlying muscle and skeletal structure to customer service and everything in between. She was even able to take several business classes which helped her jumpstart her career immediately after graduation! I think she’s really found her passion in life, and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

BMTI is a medical-based, comprehensive massage therapy program with a wide range of knowledgeable, experienced instructors. It offers a full-time & part-time program to cater to all students lifestyles/needs. There is a student clinic open to the public, with private rooms, and the classroom is big & beautiful with several windows facing a golf course, the flatiron mountains & providing plenty of natural light. It is a fun, yet serious learning environment, and thus far the school boasts a 100% pass rate for the mblex massage licensing exam.

My partner and I went in for massages at the same time. I was very uncomfortable with a male MT. She was assigned a female and I was assigned a male. They absolutely would not switch. There was no reason that they could not switch. I wanted to cry.

I was a student at BMTI in the last few years and am very grateful for the education and high-level experience I attained here. I have a specialty in pelvic floor therapy and attending one of the top massage schools in the state and country helped me build a very lucrative practice. Thank you BMTI!

BMTI is a beautiful school set against the most breathtaking mountains: a naturally healing environment. I so loved going to school for my massage education and sincerely appreciated the small, intimate classes with extra attention from the Instructor that helped my learning go leaps and bounds. I also appreciate that BMTI is such a perfect combination of metaphysical and physiological~ BMTI is by no means “woo-woo” nor does the school ignore the obvious energetic systems. It is a grounded yet open style of massage education which was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks BMTI!Cree

The Boulder Massage Therapy Institute prepared me for everything in the professional world of Massage. I was employed locally in Boulder immediately after graduating and receiving my License. I stayed on at BMTI and completed the advanced program that earned me an extra 225 hrs. I was able to do this while working full time. Since then, I have moved to Telluride, CO where I work for the ski resort and own my own practice. I credit the business course at BMTI for equipping me with the necessary tools to be able to run my own business. My teachers were unparalleled and the learning environment was supportive and nurturing. My experience at BMTI had a profound contribution to my personal growth and I am proud to be an alumni.

Aloha. My name’s Smylie and I graduated from BMTI’s license prep program and completed their advance continuing education classes. I am licensed in Colorado and Hawaii.I chose to attend BMTI because I felt that the experience in the faculty biographies and the extensive curriculum would put me above the rest. The advanced program also satisfied Hawaii’s requirements that are higher than most of what other states require, clutch! When I graduated I felt well prepared to take the MBLEX and launch a personalized career in a very competitive industry and so did the rest of my classmates. I began my journey as a self taught healer. Assimilating my knowledge from high school, liberal arts, automotive technology, carpentry, welding and recovering from life changing injuries, I felt compelled to pursue the martial art of healing. I even learned anatomy ahead of school with an app! I am forever grateful to my teachers at BMTI for helping and allowing me to integrate and expand my knowledge in a supportive learning environment. “Everyone has their own take on relaxation!”I felt, that for me, the Structural Integration and CranialSacral classes were the icing on the cake! But really, all the classes were AMAZING! I continue to learn through my practice by revisiting the fundamentals I learned in school and working with clients to achieve their goals. I highly recommend the Boulder Massage Therapy Institute. Mahalo, A Hui Hou!

This review is strictly regarding the Massage Clinic. While it is absolutely wonderful to have the option of a massage for under $40 there are some draw backs. First, scheduling is a challenge. In the time I have gone, there has never been an online portal to accomplish this. Additionally, about 90% of the time, your call to schedule goes to voicemail. Secondly, they ask you to pay in advance, which is strange. Most services, even massage, you pay AFTER. How do I know what to tip if I haven't experienced the service yet...?Generally, the massages are great, and sometimes you forget a student is the one administering massage. Sometimes, they are not great, but I didn't feel like I could be honest about that because they are students and they are just learning. My last massage was not great, and I was hesitant to return, although I had made follow up appointments. (I had done this because otherwise your booked 8 weeks or more out.) I canceled both follow up appointments BUT- beware, they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. I called to cancel with less than 24 hours notice, and because I always have to leave a voicemail, that's what I did. Did not get a confirmation or call my message was received, but I did get a call wondering where I was 15 minutes after my appointment started. They did not get my message, and were going to charge me for giving less than 24 hours notice. This policy was news to me, and I was a little bit shocked. I explained that I was not OK with that, and because my last massage was a poor experience, I didn't feel OK being charge for another massage that I had called to cancel. I did feel bad that nobody received my voicemail, but I had left it at least 8 hours before my massage. In any case, I was put on hold for five minutes, and then told that I was not allowed to return to the massage clinic anymore. While I understand that my cancellation seemed last minute, it was not. I have as much notice as I could. It's not my fault no one ever answers the phone, and apparently does not check massages. I know they are running a school and a clinic, but the clinic is a business. The ability to speak to a live person on my FIRST call, anytime I call, would have been so helpful. I was saddened they did not dig further into my poor experience with my last massage. Overall, it's a poor customer service experience. You get what you pay for.

Excellent student massage in the clinic. After reading previous negative comments I must say a few things....I do not expect spa service from a student clinic in a massage school. Paying in advance, in my experience, is the norm these days. These students have great training, caring demeanors, and sensitive quality of touch...again, for students. The Institute clinic is a good deal, for clients wanting an inexpensive way to receive massage and for students who are eager to practice what they are learning.

I have been an instructor at BMTI for a few years now, and I'm always impressed by the amount of heart the administration and staff put into teaching and helping both students and instructors. It's a small school, so every interaction matters, and I can see the care and thought that go into the daily running of BMTI. Kudos to Melinda and Janis, and all the teachers and students for making BMTI a great massage school, and for making it a family as well!
