Best place in Boulder to buy parts and tools. They have (almost) everything. I try to "support local bike shops" but many other local shops don't stock unusual items, or sometimes even common items, but Excel usually has what you need in stock. Prices are great too.

Great bike shop and discounts can be killer; recommend them for any online sales. If close to their shop, worth a stop as they are welcoming. Showroom is small but attached to their warehouse for quick product accessibility. New bike day for me as I finally splurged on a carbon gravel bike. The deal was too good to pass up on the grevil f. Worked with Phil P and cannot say enough good things about him. His patience with the sales process and his post sales support make him the bike shop employee of the year. Ask for him if you need support. Bike well packaged and shipped quickly. Easy to assemble in my kitchen and ready to ride the next morning. Will use them again.

Came in here to get my gears re-indexed today and the guy at the counter didn’t even know what indexing was. Not kidding. I said hey I need some re-indexing on my rear derailleur and he says “what do you mean re-indexing?” With the most confused look on his face. And he’s like “oh you mean you want it dialed in.” Yo dude are you serious? You can’t be for real. Somehow got a job at a bike shop not knowing what indexing. Also called himself a maintenance guy and he said he wouldn’t fix my bike because they’re so busy. There was nobody in the store and no bikes on the bike stand in the back. Just flat out lying to me. I went to full cycle down a block or two and they helped me out extremely quickly and were very nice to their customers. I just figured excel was a 3T bike dealer so they can work on my bike better than full cycle but nope, full cycle is Better and faster and taught me some new things about my SRAM eTap 12 speed. Guy at excel never heard of 12 speeds yet. Never come here. Staff is rude and not helpful and high prices. Smells bad.I highly recommend choosing Full Cycle over Excel Sports. Avoid Excel at all costs; their customer service is poor and they are not truthful. Full Cycle consistently provides prompt bike service, especially for urgent mechanical issues. Additionally, they are willing to educate customers, even those with limited knowledge like myself. I have always been satisfied with their service and expertise when it comes to bike repairs. The staff at Full Cycle is exceptionally knowledgeable and efficient. Moreover, they often perform minor repairs free of charge. On the other hand, I once visited Excel and was told it would take a week to look at my bike, whereas Full Cycle resolved the issue in just 3 minutes, and at no cost.

I have been shopping with these folks for years. If you are a gear geek and you are looking for high end gear you will find it here. For my single speed town beater I mostly need tires and tubes. I just go to clearance and can find closeout higher end gear for reasonable prices. I have had wheels custom made with these guys. I have always been satisfied and on the few occasions I needed to call them they were helpful.

I had been a loyal customer for over 30 years. I purchased a set of Reynolds wheels for my wife. Turns out that after I spent many hours trying to get tires to seat on them, they are defective. I spoke with 3 different people there trying to come up with a solution. None of the things worked. I also wasted a bunch of Stan's. Finally, when I spoke with Tyler, he agreed they were defective and said he would ship out a new set along with some tape and Stan's the day the wheels were received. That would have worked for me, but he didn't. When I followed 3 days later the replacements wheels still had not been shipped. My wife and I are going out of town, and now she won't have them for the trip. One of the people I spoke with was Greg, who unlike the other review was not at all helpful.

I have bought four bikes from Excel over the last 6 years. I am modifying my review as the last bike I bought was a Tarmac SL7. I asked to be fitted on it for stack and reach. Excel adjusted the bike seat and position but that was it. The frame size was correct. But I got back pains and numb hands. After increasing the tire size to 32mm, which helped, I went to a professional fitter at Mike’s Bikes. She was hugely helpful by moving my seat forward, changing the seat angle, rotating the bars up, the hoods inward, etc.. She said the stem length that Excel had on the bike was too long and the cranks were too long for my size. I reached out to Greg to see if he could help and he did sell me the stem and crankset needed. Bottom line, get fitted.

I am writing this in behalf of my husband who has been going to this shop for many years. My husband was treated awfully by a salesperson here. He was trying on cycling shoes and was taking his time deciding, as he should be bc it's an expensive purchase. The salesman told him he had 5 minutes and in a rude and annoyed manner. And told my husband that he's always in here and never buys anything. For the record my husband has bought several things here in the past and for someone to say these things to a customer is terrible. We will not be shopping here again and recommend that others should not shop here also.
