So hubby and I were out in Boulder Colorado for a lovely family wedding and this is the ONLY restaurant we're still dreaming about. There were only 2 of us debating between the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp and Mussels Meunière appetizer. Ultimately, we chose the shrimp, but based on how many people around us ordered both--we would not have been disappointed either way. However, the entree was the real star of this evening was the Colorado Grass-Fed Bison NY Strip. We ordered it medium rare and every bite was truly delicious. We wish we had room for dessert, but the dinner was so filling that there was no room for it. Honestly, the dinner was so good, it really didn't matter.

I got here around 5:50 on Friday night and I sat at the bar. They gave me a happy hour menu. It was 6:15 before someone took my food order, in which I was told happy hour was over. I told them I had been sitting there for like 25 minutes and they said okay, they would honor those prices. Everything else was fine except for, once the food arrived, no one acknowledged me at all. When I was done, I pushed my plate aside, thinking the bartender would see me sitting there, waiting to check out. Not one to be rude, I just kept flashing my credit card every time he walked by. Nothing. Finally, another server noticed me, checked me out, and I left. Then as I was walking through the parking lot, the hostess chased me down. "Ma'am! You forgot to pay!" WTF? So I went back to the bar, totally embarrassed as all the patrons are now looking at me, thinking I'm a thief. The bartender picked up the folder with my receipt and said, "Oh, that was yours?" Yes, dumbass. You might have known this had you paid attention to me all night long. If I could have given him less of a tip, I would have. Totally ruined my dinner experience.

Went for happy hour - great service and food. A handsome young man named Ben was our busser - quite the hard worker!

My wife and I had dinner here after dropping our daughter off at college. I read mixed reviews with some trepidation, but we had a nice time. The food was very good and not overpriced like a Mortons or Ruth Chris Steakhouse. The Service was good as well. The restaurant is directly across from St. Julian and there is a parking garage directly across the street as well.

One of the best happy hours in Boulder! We just spent a lovely afternoon with friends yesterday and they loved the happy hour. It was their first time and it was terrific seeing their reaction. It had to be our tenth time or more. Everything is delicious! Go early, it gets busy fast.

The quality has gone downhill over the past few years! Service was great, but that was the redeeming quality. And, I may be biased against the complimentary cornbread as don't like cornbread in general. Food was overpriced. Calamari was overdone and had no flavor except the breading on it. My salad was 21$ and consisted of 4 full length lettuce leaves on a plate, topped off with pickled red onions (?) and a slice of chicken breast. Our other chicken dish was unimpressive too. Maybe the steak is good, but if you're not a red meat eater I'd stay away from Frank's.

By far the best happy hour on Pearl street! The ambiance and service was perfect. My boyfriend and I loved the calamari and the addition of the shrimp scampi to the NY strip was superb! To top off the evening I got the Latte Martini which was exquisite. We will definitely be going back!

Great atmosphere, good service. $6 Happy hour specials, live music. It was a great experience. Food was served promptly and was delicious. Burger was small but delectable!

If you want your steak overcooked with lukewarm side dishes (waffle fries tasted like any you'd buy in the freezer section), thin and limp asparagus and an almost uneatable wedge salad, this is the place for you. Service was good though. This was a company outing thus I would have disliked it even more had the money come out of my pocket.

We were in Boulder for a long weekend and family wedding. First time visiting from the East Coast. Place is not as upscale as I was thinking when I first read the reviews. We felt a little overdressed as most people were wearing shorts and t-shirts. The atmosphere was very cute with a nice outside seating area, a tavern with live music, and a quieter dining area. Service was excellent no we had a very friendly and attentive waiter. He recommended the Frank's Signature Martini made with local Breckinridge vodka, bleu cheese stuffed olives and a truffle salt rim. Very yummy! We got there early so we ordered apps from their happy hour menu which were also available in the dining room. The appetizer selection was half price. We ordered the mussels and they served a very generous portion. I wasn't expecting great seafood in Colorado but the mussels tasted very fresh. I ordered the top sirloin and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye for entrees. He likes his steak rare and said it was cooked perfectly. I admit, my preference in steak done was is a source of contention with steak lovers but I ordered it medium well and the waiter recommended it to be well done if I prefer "no pink." Both steaks came out rather quickly so I pretty much knew I'd have to send mine back. I think it may have actually been rarer than my boyfriend's steak. That being said, the waiter took it back no problem to correct. I believe they probably just put it in the broiler though because it was back out at the table in 5 minutes and was pretty charred on the outside. Overall we had a good experience though and we'd definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Got right in to the tavern for dinner. I had the small salad and mussels appetizer for my entree. My husband had the prime rib sandwich. He also ordered the corn bread to share, which was an add on to the entree. Corn bread and mussels were amazing. Too full for dessert. Good helpful service.

We attended the Pearl Street Art Fest (which was a flop) and decided upon Frank's because they had a great Jazz band playing out front. Great music and a perfect accompaniment to any meal. We had appetizers, Steak Carpaccio, Oyster Mushroom Fondue and Chef's Ceviche. All very good. The waiter was attentive but we have to find him to get silverware and he seemed new to the menu (like allot of places post-COVID). Only surprise was we were charged for each glass of tea we drank, but not charged for the many glasses of water. All in all good but not great. I'd come back if the Jazz band was playing.

Just a family of three in town for the Fourth of July and to tour CU. Made reservations. Atmosphere was lovely. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was timely and delicious. My only complaint - and maybe this is just a Southern girl outside of the South - the brought us a little cast iron skillet of "cornbread" but let me tell you, it was no cornbread I've ever had. Best I could tell, there was little bread and no corn. It was like cake. But everything else was very, very good.

My family ate at Frank's Chophouse today. The lettuce wedge with bacon and blue cheese was great to the last bite. The mussels and buffalo cauliflower was enjoyed by all. Asian baby back ribs were tender and tasty. The french onion soup is the best in town. Try it - you'll love it! Finally, let me mention the drinks...the Blackbird was especially delicious. The servers are super attentive, friendly, and very interested in pleasing their guests. I will be back again and again, especially when outside seating is available.

Bunch of us ordered burgers...the menu described it as house ground "prime beef." The meat was over handled and overly ground and became compacted. Tough, dry, flavorless, zero fat content, even when cooked to "rare." For a high end steak house this product is completely unacceptable. Oh, and it took 75 minutes to get to us...
