Needed a last-minute weekend appointment and they were able to get us in before lunch. Dr. Feller was kind, thorough, and actually encouraged us NOT to spend the extra $ on tests because she was confident in the diagnosis. I’d definitely return if our usual vet was unavailable again!

Dr. Brannigan is so generous with her time. She shared her expertise on the phone with me when I was having a small crisis with my pet. I am so thankful for her professionalism and expertise.

They have taken wonderful care of our dogs for 11 years! Vets are great, and the front desk and techs and ready to help. Boarding is also really good! Highly recommend!

I've been a dedicated customer of Gunbarrel Vet since 2009. It has never mattered which Dr. We schedule with, as everyone has always been attentive, knowledgeable, and very caring. I love popping in for my pet's food or prescriptions because I love seeing and chatting with the kind and friendly staff. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my sweet kitties and pups.

Dr. And staff are very friendly and have been great about getting us on the schedule with unexpected travel and need of health certificate asap. My pets (2cats & dog) are healthy. My one newly adopted cat had stomatitis and we did have a 2nd consult here, the assessment was consistent with other veterinary recommendations. The Dr. was also open to conversation about holistic approaches to the nervous twitches my rescue kitty has been challenged with. We have had no need for emergency services but I would feel comfortable and confident with advice and services here.

It is easy to give a good review when you are only involved in routine care. If you have an issue as my beautiful rescue Blu has with both knees, then this is NOT the place to go.Being in Niwot and serving Boulder Valley we become accustomed to paying crazy high costs, but Gunbarrel Vet takes it to the next level with cost. One vet absolutely messed up the diagnosis of my dog, but more importantly, she pushed close to $1000 of xrays and vitamins that were not necessary. And when I nicely, truly nicely brought it up with the receptionist, she totally agreed and understood my frustration. And the vet that saw my dog after this initial screw up simply said 'sorry, I understand'. She understood that my dog was in pain for months unnecessarily after asking me why my dog was not on pain killers nor had seen a surgeon. WOWOWOWOWOWOW!When I spoke with the receptionist, she also couldn't find any expanded notes from the initial visit (and yes, I am avoiding saying the vet's name because I am trying to be kind) and was confused. I then said to her that if the vet or managing person was going to call me back with some sort of explanation showing how the situation is totally fine, then please don't have anyone call me back.AND of course the vet calls me back and leaves a long message with no sense of apology or even compassion. UNBELIEVABLE.I understand animal love. Not only do I have pets but I have been involved in animal sanctuary work for a handful of years now. This vet is NOT OK and I wouldn't trust my animals with her and will tell everyone I know to STOP GOING TO THIS PRACTICE!Both of my dogs love the folks who work in the boarding area but unfortunately they will not be going there anymore. My experience in business has shown me that when there is this type of lack of empathy and ethical practice, the whole system needs looking at and I don't want to be in a position where an even worse situation arises and my animals do not get the treatment I pay for and at Gunbarrel Veterinary Hospital it seems the money is what it is all about. Too bad.

I have been going here for my pets for several years. I wanted to write a review and say thank you to Olivia (vet tech) for giving me great behavioral tips for acclimating my dog new a new dog friend. She was super patient and kind, and of course so sweet with my dog. It's nice when people go above and beyond and they always do here. Gunbarrel Vet always fit me in last minute and it's just an overall pleasant experience always! And doggie daycare is awesome too.

We came in to get a bump on our dog looked at, and were told it was very likely cancerous and would need to be removed. At the initial visit, we were told by Dr. Vail that it would cost approximately $300 for this surgery, so we opted out of the ~$100 test to determine if it was cancerous, but the actual quote we received for the surgery was for $1000-$1200. Had we known this, we would have paid for the ~$100 test, but because we did not receive the quote until the following day we would have had to pay another $100 checkup fee to get this test done. There was also an emergency in the office that we felt distracted the care from our dog and our questions regarding the procedure. We went through with the surgery which went well and lab results showed our dog's tumor was benign which is great, but we feel the additional costs could have been avoided had we known the correct information upfront. We understand the actual vet may not be very involved with billing, but believe that we should not have been told a number if Dr. Vail did not know. We felt comfortable with the care our dog received, but very frustrated with the differing information we received and feel we could have made a better decision for us and our dog had we had the proper information the first time.

Great veterinarians, and a good experience for me and my cat. The staff, technicians and vets are all caring and clearly all animal lovers. Even my anxious kitty was quite calm for his exam and vaccinations. I will keep going back!

Unfriendly and rude service. Came in asking for information and was scolded for not calling ahead. Ran 5 minutes late later and was hung up on.

I live very close to this Vet and have used them for years. I have sent numerous other pet owners their way. My mom just moved here and I suggested she take her two cats to this vet. NO MORE. I have always tolerated the seemingly rude front desk because I thought the doctors were excellent. For the past two years it has been impossible to schedule an appointment the same week despite calling first thing on Monday. There is no attempt to support, help or even provide options. We have always felt as though we are an inconvenience instead of an appreciated customer. I put this all on the front desk.

Very nice, efficient front office staff. Dr. Gustafson is great. Dr. Vail is also a good vet I guess, but kept trying to sell me services and products. Kind of odd I thought. We just started going here, but overall I'm very satisfied with the care my cats have received so far.
