Reserved cargo van. Never got email receipt even though they charged my CC. I called 49th St in Boulder and they told me they substituted a box truck which I do not want. Tried to cancel. Boulder office told me to call corporate in OK. No corporate phone number. Took multiple attempts to submit request on corporate site. We shall see if I get a response. Now Boulder does not answer phone. IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL!!!!!Follow up: OK, after a very long wait, the agent on Facebook gave me a phone number. Then after another very long time on hold, I was FINALLY able to cancel. The very nice agent said I would get a full refund in 7 - 10 days. We shall see.............

I would caution people to stay away from this car rental company, with the exception of Javier (the Manager of this location) who has been persistent in trying to follow up with corporate headquarters to secure my refunds. Hertz makes it next to impossible to reach customer service, even when you are presently in a rental, and will continue to charge your car for 'this and that' months after you've returned the car.I rented a car back in January 2024 and STILL HAVE NOT received reimbursement. It is now March and I've called to speak with the manager at this location TWICE in addition to writing multiple times to their customer service (website), receiving only frustrating and infuriating answers.The day before my rental was due for return, for no fault of my own, I had to call in for roadside assistance. The car I had rented was driving forward when in REVERSE. I was stuck in a parking lot and in danger of driving into a pole.Hertz charged me for the full rental day (that was missed) and didn't credit the day I was not able to use the car. When I had initially picked up the car it was not a full tank. I told the manager at the rental office and they said not to worry about it, they had taken photos of this. I have also been charged for this.To add insult to injury, I get an email almost a month and a half later declaring that I have been charged $14 for tolls? I was like What? Which toll? I have been charged for the toll from the driver that took the car back to Denver Airport for service.Atrocious lack of customer service and care. I have never once received a call back about my refunds. I heavily advise people to stay away from this company --- in general.

Javier and his team are extremely friendly, courteous, and professional. I have rented from this location several times and am consistently impressed with the staff and the cars. Highly recommended!!!

What a sad place. Understaffed (sometimes zero staff), dingy waiting room packed with people. Expect a 30 minute wait to pick up your car. Instead go over to the Avis across the street and ask them to match Hertz's price.

I am am Uber driver. Red tape is expected when dealing with anything Uber. Hertz, Specifically 49th St. Boulder has been amazing. I have run into a couple of small issues that could have turned big, but the staff had been not only accommodating, but efficient and to the point. My background is in the restaurant industry. We're no bones get it done types. Hired.

This Hertz office is a joke. They completely stood me up for a rental car that I was supposed to get No one would answer their phone and they didn’t show up to pick me up at the body shop. Will never use these people again.

Nice guy was serving us. No need to line up. Ended up upgrading to very nice Range Rover.Usually I rent from the airport but actually this was good option. I took shuttle from the airport previous night and picked car following day. Rental price is better in Boulder compared to airport price.

This is a review for Hertz overall, not the agents in Durango. The car I was given had several issues, one of which was a safety issue. (The brake assist was malfunctioning. Not ideal.) I reported the issues to the return location in Boulder, but the agents there just gave me a phone number to call. When I called this number, I spoke to a woman who told me I should have reported my issues to the agents at the return location (ha!) or called Roadside Assistance. She said she couldn't help me. I asked to speak to someone who could, and she put me on what turned out to be an indefinite hold. I hung up and called back and was, thankfully, greeted by a man who actually did hear me and help me. I know our options for rental cars in Durango are limited, but if I had freedom of choice, I wouldn't go back to Hertz.

Only giving 2 stars because I drove away in a car. When I arrived, the midsize car I reserved was not available. They ‘upgraded me’ to the smallest SUV I’ve ever seen, which was a downgrade in every way possible. The excuse was there are no cars left, although I don’t understand how that is my fault. When I went to the car, it was never cleaned and it didn’t have a full tank of gas. I asked if I could take one of the other SUVs up front but I was told those are reserved. It’s not clear why screwing up my reservation and giving me a dirty car is preferred over screwing up someone else’s reservation and giving them a clean car. This is how it goes with Hertz lately though so after 13 years of using Hertz, it’s time for a change.

If we could rate 0 stars we would. Beware of this rental location. I used it all the time until the following happened. The manager Javier was rude and argumentative with my husband when he declined to take their 500 dollar damage coverage. He actually threatened us if there was damage to the vehicle that he would insure we paid for it. Well the Ford they rented to us had damage all over it including a cracked windshield. My husband made him come out to look at the vehicle and he stated he would note all the damage. Fast forward 3 months later and we get a call from Hertz regarding damage noted when the car was returned. Thank God I had documented everything. Hertz told us they would close the claim after I spoke with them. I didn't even have to provide my pictures. My conversation with them made me believe this Hertz location has a reputation for accusing customers for damage that is not their fault.

This has to be the best experience I've ever had at a car rental place. The manager Javier is exceptional, both in knowledge and customer service, as well as just being a super nice person. I will be recommending this hertz rental place to all of our friends and family, and anyone in need of a car. I have never had a nicer time renting a car. Thank you Javier for making the experience so pleasant, easy and hassle-free.

I always have had a great experience as a gold member at the Boulder Hertz. Recently I rented a vehicle, a great new upgraded Nissan Rogue, for about 4 days and by using some points it only cost around $100. I was able to get all around Boulder County and see all my favorite sites and get some beautiful photos of one of the best places in the USA. ?? ❤

Horrible service…apparently if you prepay and return a car early you get charged extra instead of getting money back…if your forced to rent here do not prepay or reserve, just inconvenience everyone by showing up since that’s what Hertz incentivizes…never doing business with them again.
